It was over 16 years ago that the two met. He was managing at a restaurant in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and she was there, working and traveling, before her final year of university. They had a friend in common who introduced them. No love at first sight or romantic intentions on anyones part, just a chance meeting of two people who quickly began to fall in love.

After the long summer had passed and she returned home to finish her Master's Degree, they would call and talk. And they talked quite frequently, almost daily, sometimes for hours. Upon her completion of her degree, she once again retuned for about 6 months in which they spent every day getting to know one another. Then she was off again.

This long distance did not slow the relationship. While she lived and worked in London, he would go to visit as she would also visit the U.S. as well. After some time, another travel adventure took her to work in Toronto for a year. By chance, he had an old friend who called him up and offered him a job in Buffalo at the same time. They would spend four to five days a week together. After nearly seven years of dating, she was finally convinced to come and live here. And so, they were engaged.

For the past ten years they have enjoyed their lives together in Florida. They have found that they love doing nearly everything together. They are best friends and soon to be husband and wife.
