How do I RSVP?

You may either RSVP via mail by mailing us back the paper RSVP copy to let us know your attendance and dining plans, or you can respond directly on this website on the RSVP tab! We prefer digital submissions wherever possible, but understand that there are situations where physical RSVPs are preferred.

When should I RSVP by?

Regardless of which RSVP method you are using, please respond by June 30, 2025. Please let the bride or groom know if you are unable to met this deadline and we will do our best to work with your schedule!

What if I do not RSVP in time?

We will send reminders leading up to the RSVP deadline. However, we would prefer not to have to reach out to all guests, so please try to submit the form by June 30 if it is possible. If we have not heard from you after checking in directly, we will mark you as "not attending" so that we are able to give accurate guests counts to our vendors, who are working so hard to help us have a beautiful day.

What if I RSVP yes, but I change my mind later?

We completely understand that plans may change and we will have no hard feelings if you are unable to celebrate with us in-person. However, we kindly request that you notify either Hanna or Jared directly to let us know that you will not be able to attend so that we can inform our vendors accordingly. Please do not RSVP yes and then not show up without any prior notification.

I cannot attend. Do I still need to RSVP?

We're sorry to hear that you cannot make it! Please still submit your RSVP if you are unable to attend to indicate to us not to expect your presence. It will save us the step of reaching out to you directly to ask you and we appreciate that! You will be missed!

Is there a dress code?

Yes, our dress code is formal. We ask gentlemen to wear a dark-colored suit or a tuxedo, and ladies to wear a floor length or tea length gown. We kindly request no jeans.

Are there any colors that guests should avoid?

Yes! Please avoid colors traditionally reserved for the bride (white, ivory, cream, etc). If you're uncertain about whether a color is too close to one of these, please reach out to Hanna.

Can I bring a guest?

Due to the limited capacity of our venue, we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless specifically indicated on your envelope. Your invitation will be addressed to "Your Name & Guest" if a plus one has been offered to you. We appreciate your understanding!

Can I bring my children?

Although we love your children, we are regrettably unable to accommodate guests under a certain age due to the setting and nature of our reception, with the exception of children in the wedding party. If your child is invited, they will be specifically named on your invitation. We hope that you can enjoy this evening as a romantic night out with your significant other!

What will the weather be like?

Minnesota summers can vary drastically on the day. In previous years, August 15 has been between 65 degrees F and 75 degrees F with clear skies. We will update this information closer to the date once more specific information is available.

Will wedding events be indoors or outdoors?

Our ceremony and reception will be indoors, but our reception venue has an outdoor space that guests are free to use. There will not be any formal programming outside, but we encourage guests to dress according to their interest in this.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Our wedding will begin promptly at 5:00pm at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis, MN. Please arrive prior to this to avoid disruptions to this sacred service. We encourage arriving fifteen to twenty minutes prior to ensure a timely arrival.

What if I arrive late?

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00pm. If you arrive late, you may still enter the sanctuary, but please open and shut the door as quietly as possible and take a seat in the back to avoid disruptions to the service. Although we understand that unplanned events can delay your timelines, we encourage you to build a few extra moments in to avoid a late entrance that may distract the wedding party or other attending guests.

Will this be a Catholic wedding?

Yes, we will be having a full Catholic wedding service. You will be guided through the ceremony via programs and directions from the Priest. If you are comfortable and able, please participate in the singing, standing, kneeling, and sitting portions of the Wedding Mass when indicated. However, if you would prefer not to kneel, we ask that you respectfully remain seated.

Should I receive communion?

Please only receive the Eucharist if you are Catholic and have received your Rite of First Communion. Christians of different denominations and non-Christians may not receive communion in a Catholic Church.

I am not Catholic. What should I do during the Eucharist?

If you are not Catholic, please feel free to either proceed through the line to receive Eucharist, but cross your arms and place each hand on the opposite shoulder to receive a blessing from the Eucharistic Ministers. If you would prefer to remain in your seats, you may do so, but we ask that you remain quiet to honor the religious aspect of this moment.

Where can I park at each venue?

The Basilica of St. Mary has a large lot specifically reserved for those attending Mass and we encourage you to take advantage of this free parking. The St. Paul College Club offers a variety of options for free street parking and a select number of on-site parking to accommodate any mobility restrictions. Please reach out to Hanna or Jared if you will need to take advantage of this accommodation so that we can ensure you will have a spot.

Are there assigned seats either at the ceremony or the reception?

The Basilica of St. Mary has open seating, but the first few pews will be reserved for the wedding party close family. Seating at the reception will be assigned and indicated with a seating chart and a place card. We are unable to make changes to either at this time.

Can I take pictures or videos throughout the ceremony/reception?

We want to be present during our ceremony and request a fully "unplugged" service. Please silence all phones during the ceremony and reception. We have hired a professional photographer to capture pictures from both events, so we kindly ask that you refrain from taking pictures or videos during any of the formal programming. Once dinner ends, please feel free to take as many pictures and videos as you would like!

How long is the drive between the ceremony and the reception?

The distance between the venues is approximately fifteen minutes via car, though this can vary based on local traffic.

When will dinner be served?

We anticipate that dinner will be served around 7:00pm.

Can you accommodate my dietary restrictions?

Yes, we will do our best to accommodate any dietary restrictions you might have! Please indicate them on your RSVP and reach out to Hanna or Jared directly as well if you are concerned.

Will there be alcohol served at the reception?

We have chosen to have a mostly dry wedding. In other words, there will not be alcohol available at our wedding, but we will have a champagne toast with dinner. Guests who ignore our policy and arrive intoxicated will be asked to leave. Non-alcoholic options and coffee will still be served.

I have a song that I would love to hear. Where can I submit it?

There is a question on our online RSVP about requested songs, but the on-site DJ will also be available to take requests.

What time does the reception end?

Dinner will be followed by dancing, to end around 11:00pm.

Have you reserved any hotel room blocks?

We have secured a special rate at the St. Paul Hotel to begin two days prior and extend two days beyond. There will not be any specific amount of rooms reserved, but rather a booking code to allow our guests to have the lowest possible rate for the weekend if they are interested in booking there. If so, please visit www.saintpaulhotel.com and then in the "Group/Code" field, enter 2420004. You may also call 800-292-9292 and ask for the Johnson Zimmerman WEDDING RATE.

I have more questions. Where can I reach you?

We appreciate your curiosity! If you have any additional questions that have not been addressed here, please reach out to Hanna or Jared via their phone numbers or via their joint email, jaredandhanna15@gmail.com. Thank you!
