Daniel Martin - Groomsman
Danny and Jarryd first met in the womb when their mothers were friends on OSU campus. On a more cerebral level though, they became close friends in middle school, when Danny’s job was to be the voice of reason for hormonally imbalanced Jarryd and his teenage angst. Over the next 20+ years, they would grow closer, while maintaining healthy polar opposite philosophical ideologies (essentially Rick Grimes and Shane of the Walking Dead). Hobbies include pickleball, debating over literally anything, killing virtual zombies, and sending pictures of our culinary meats.
Jordan Foreman - Groomsman
Jojo and Jarryd first met in 5th grade when he mostly used Jarryd because he thought his laptop was cool. Years later they reconnected at the Blake house during undergrad where they became elite teammates in competitive traditional college solo cup games. Time together usually involves trying not to hurt our backs in the gym, getting in ice baths just to not feel old, and ill-planned mishap-prone road trips
Devin Binegar - Groomsman
What started as a casual college friendship, Jarryd and Devin went on to be roommates, and eventually found a shared hobby of traveling the world together. Despite a boxing match that ended early when Jarryd got a concussion from unsportsmanlike Ohio River Valley style fighting by Devin, they remain close friends. Hobbies include yell-singing along to 2010’s emo songs, slapping each other in the face, and sharing a drink together in silence while abroad.
Jeffrey Frazier - Groomsman
Their first introduction at The Chiller ice skating rink, was made by Mrs. Rivera hoping to help Jarryd find a new friend at a new middle school circa 2005. The bond was unbreakable from ski club to soccer. Jarryd and Jeff went on to grow together through many stages of life, although neither has exactly “grown up.” Despite Jeff’s tendency to move to a new country every 2 months, they still find time to reconnect over holidays or for any excuse to party. Jarryd and Jeff enjoy quality time with cats, heckling professional soccer players, and long walks on the beach together in exotic countries.
Stewart Stephens - Groomsman
Stewart and Jarryd’s friendship started during a high school senior tag shootout, when Stew backed over the Rivera’s mailbox. The two of them put a pause to the battle, and quickly worked together to remedy the damaged mailbox before Jarryd's parents ever found out (sorry mom and dad). They went on to live together in college, and even for a semester when Stew allowed Jarryd to share his one bedroom apartment in Bradenton FL during clinical rotations. Their friendship still goes strong, even though Stew as the manager of Rust Bucket is responsible for the only time Jarryd has ever been terminated from a job. Stew and Jarryd spend quality time watching bloody UFC matches, drinking sodas on the beach, and enjoying gourmet nachos usually prepared by Stew.
Kevin May - Officiant
Kevin is often the protector of our lollapalooza festival family, the beacon of safety during late nights on the town, and the comforting voice of reason when one of us needs life advice. It is only fitting he is the one we asked to officiate our ceremony of union!
Rajvinder Singh - Emcee
Raj has been the go-to man since day 1 of medical school. What he lacks in bhangra skills, he makes up for in his superpowers in finding the best solution to any problem we brought to him. From finding bootlegged study resources in med school, tech wiz, to an amazing father, he is the man to get the job done!
Desmond Rowe - Emcee
From the wild experiences together in Dominica, to clinical rotations in Miami, and now always being the life of every party. We love Des for his wild side and his expert fanning always keeping us cool in the crowd! Oh and of course chef extraordinaire with fantastic thanksgiving meals he whips up casually after getting home from work.
Soumi Dey - Bridesmaid
Soumi was my very first friend in Ohio and has been by my side through every phase of life. What started as a dance buddy quickly turned into one of my best friendships. Our high school sleepovers eventually upgraded to nights out on Park Street, where wild nights usually ended with one of us being carried home and the other breaking their phone… I’ll let you guess who’s who. We’ve grown up a lot together, and this past summer I had the honor of standing by her side as she got married. I can’t wait to now share that same moment with her - hopefully with fewer broken phones this time.
Mehorin Brasser - Bridesmaid
Mehorin and I have been friends since 8th grade, back when I first moved to Ohio and immediately became close. Our early bonding involved her mom’s dangerously delicious biriyani and aggressively fan-girling over Cristiano Ronaldo - who, shockingly, is still her celebrity hall pass. We graduated from sneaking margaritas at parties our parents forced us to attend, to dancing on tables at Big Bar. It’s honestly shocking that she’s now a mother of two boys, though we all know it’s her better half Michael who deserves full credit for keeping all three of them alive. No matter how many decades pass, Mehorin will always be the friend who makes me feel like I’m back in college - completely carefree, and one song away from climbing onto a tabletop.
Tanvi Joshi - Bridesmaid
Tanvi and I became inseparable about five minutes after meeting at freshman dance practice during the first week of college - basically joined at the hip from day one. And just like that, four of the best years of our lives began. We lived together, laughed together, and cried our way through organic chemistry. Our “late-night study sessions” almost always turned into deep life talks about our future LA house with an infinity pool overlooking the hills and the ocean (non-negotiable). Even after moving away for med school and getting busy chasing our doctor dreams, every time we reunite it feels like no time has passed - same us, same chaos, just with better résumés.
Shane Smith - Bridesdude
Shane was the third piece that completed our college trio - though Tanvi and I didn’t exactly give him much of a choice. He became our friend, our roommate, and the primary reason we survived most of our wild college nights. He was also the reason people were scared of the jungle juice at our house parties. All nighters on the girls floor of our three story townhouse often meant late night check ins by Shane. And he almost always found us doing anything but studying and joined in on the unhinged sleep deprived life talks. Equal parts voice of reason and agent of chaos, Shane can give advice on absolutely anything… including where to find 151 on a random Tuesday night.
Noopur Saha - Bridesmaid
Meet Noopur, my very first Kansas City friend turned honorary sister. From day one, she took me under her wing - mostly so I wouldn’t get lost on I-35 again. She introduced me to her crew, her family, and her four-legged sidekick Ava, with whom I’ve shared many a downtown stroll and existential conversation. Noopur was my compass in KC - guiding me to the best brunch spots, the cheapest happy hours, and, most importantly, the art of the dirtiest martini known to humankind. Basically, she’s the reason I survived moving to a whole new city by myself. Today, she’s an incredible mom of two, proving she can keep tiny humans alive with the same grace she once used to keep me fed, entertained, and oriented. Even though we now live half a country apart, Noopur remains one of my closest friends.
Sonika Ahluwalia - Bridesmaid
Sonika became my roommate after a single phone call in which she very casually mentioned there was another gator in her backyard - a strong opening move. I quickly learned this Bollywood-loving Punjabi girl was so much more than Florida chaos. I truly would not have survived med school without the person willing to lie on the living room floor with me at 2 am cramming for anatomy. Somewhere between the madness, we also found time to discuss the essentials: boys, bad dates, new fitness goals, and what we were going to be when we grew up. We found our life partners around the same time and shared all the early relationship jitters. And now she’s a mom to the cutest little girl, an amazing wife, and hands down the best GI doctor around (hit her up for the best colonoscopy of your life). Unfortunately, she couldn’t join us across the pond because she’s busy doing more cool things… like growing another human!
