Clayton and I met each other in 2019 while I was attending my first year in college. My roommate had gone back home for the weekend to visit her family and when she came back she showed me photos of her time home with her family and friends. One of the photos just so happened to have Clayton in it, and to back track, I was not at all a risk taker. The thought of me reaching out to a person for anything relationship related was not a thought in my brain, but I saw him and immediately knew that he was the one, whether he knew it or not haha. So I was courageous and asked to exchange information with him and after a few photo exchanges he said “ok” and I was ecstatic! After a few texts back and forth it turned out he was moving to Texas because he had just started his job in the Air Force and I was bummed, I thought for sure he was going to say “yea this won’t work out” so I didn’t get my hopes up. But non the less we kept talking. After a month we decided that we were ready for a small relationship, and we knew the stipulations due to it being long distance but we decided to try to make it work. Of course some may have thought we were crazy for dating long distance, but we didn’t knew we could push through the battle of being so far away.
Soon a year went by and we finally decided to make a plan to see each other for the first time. I flew to Texas and both of our nerves were at our highest, but we were excited. And as soon as I saw him my heart melted. And from then on the next four years were a journey and a bit of a struggle being a long distance from each other, visiting and talking about a life together. Though there was a point in time for us were there was few months of a rough patch, and I didn’t see it at the time but Lord knew that we were soulmates and guided us back together and brought me to an amazing and wonderful family. We spent so much time discussing about living together, getting married and eventually starting a family of our own, and now that the time is here we are both more than ecstatic to share this amazing with experience with you all.
