Our Story

It all started with a DM. Modern romance at its finest… and somehow it worked.

The first time we met in person, Carley took me out for boba so we could hang out “as friends.” We ended up sitting there for hours, talking about everything and slowly realizing how intertwined our lives had been without even knowing it. We went to rival high schools in the same town, went to the same football games and the same spots around town, and even had mutual friends. Somehow we had always been in the same places at the same time, but never actually crossed paths. Then in 2019 at the University of North Texas, our paths finally crossed the way they were meant to.

From there, we were literally inseparable. We went to each other’s classes, pulled all nighters, and did each other’s homework. Hey, she liked English and I liked communications… it worked.

There were endless coffee dates. Long car rides going nowhere, just wanting to be in each other’s presence and share good music. And speaking of music, that was a whole journey of its own.

Somewhere along the way, all of the college spontaneity slowly turned into a love for slow Sundays, sharing podcasts, and spending weekends at home with our three children… I mean cats.

Over the years, we have walked through every high and low together. Those moments shaped us, strengthened us, and reminded us why we choose each other every single day. We have built a life that feels completely and perfectly ours.

Now, after 7 years together, we are so excited to take this next step. On April 25, 2026, surrounded by our favorite people, we will finally say “I do.”

Wedding Party

Chloe Gillum

My little sister. My baby, my heart, and my bestie! Where do I start? My Maid Of Honor isn't JUST my sister, she's been my built-in-bestie since day one. She has seen me at my best and my worst, and somehow still chooses to love me and encourage me through it all (even though she is younger, she is way wiser than me!).

Edrina Zulali , Olivia Pittman, Samantha gray, Avery Blanchard

These girls have been by my side for 13 years - through the best memories, the funniest moments, and the rawest; realist seasons of my life. They have seen every version of me, from Middle School Drama, to High School Chaos, to College ( we know how that ended ) - they have been by my side. They are people who have kept me grounded and wild all at once- my chosen family before I knew I'd plan a wedding!

Jennifer Johnson - Matron of Honor
Jenny has always been my hero — the kind of person who makes you feel safe just by being near her. She’s guided me, protected me, and loved me through every chapter of my life, but she’s also been the voice that pushes me forward. She has always believed in me, cheered for me, motivated me to do my best, and reminded me that I can handle hard things. She’s my sister-mom, my calm, and my greatest inspiration. Having her as my Matron of Honor is one of the biggest gifts of this wedding, and I’m so proud she’s standing beside me.
Jacquelyn Charfarous - Maid of Honor
Jackie is my big sister — my built-in best friend, my creative inspiration, and my favorite person to be goofy with. We’ve always bonded through art, laughter, and a ridiculous amount of Austin Powers inside jokes. And as a fun bonus, she’s been my photographer from day one, literally, capturing so many of my favorite moments along the way. I’m beyond grateful she’s standing with me on this day and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Samantha Terrell & Haylie Merritt - Bridesmaids
Samantha and Haylie are my ride-or-die girls. The ones who have stood by me on my best days, worst days, and everything in between. Nothing can truly describe the love and appreciation I have for them. They’re my chosen family, the kind of friends you’re lucky to find once and keep forever.
Liliana Johnson - Junior Bridesmaid
Lily is my niece, but she’s basically my little sister. She may be as tall as me now, but she’ll forever be my little boo bear, and I’m so excited to have her by my side on this special day!

Dress Code

GARDEN FORMAL

What to Wear:

We’re going for a spring/earth-tone vibe — think greens, neutrals, soft pastels, and florals. Semi-formal or dressy casual attire is perfect: cocktail dresses, midi/maxi dresses, dressy jumpsuits, and suits are all great options.

Texas-style is welcome too — boots & jeans with a sport coat are absolutely acceptable!

For late April in Colleyville, evening temperatures typically range from about 75–80°F around 5–7pm, cooling to around 60–65°F by 10–11pm, so a light jacket or shawl is recommended.

Q + A

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

Garden Formal! Basically just semi-formal but more spring colors & florals. If you don’t have anything like that, don’t go out of your way to buy something you won’t wear again… it’s really not that deep. I’m sure you’ll all look amazing, don’t stress!

CAN I BRING A GUEST?

We’re keeping our wedding intimate and celebrating with our closest loved ones. If your invitation includes “and guest,” you’re absolutely welcome to bring someone! Otherwise, we can’t wait to celebrate with you, we promise you’ll be surrounded by familiar faces and new friends.

ARE KIDS INVITED?

Yes! Little ones are welcome to attend and celebrate with us — as long as they can hang. Just know it will be outdoors with music, crowds, dancing, and lots going on, so it may be a bit much for some kiddos. That said, if you’d enjoy a child-free night to relax and fully celebrate, we completely support that too! We want everyone’s full attention and fun, so please plan whatever works best for your family. Either way, we can’t wait to see you! Please note: there is a pool in the center of the venue, so children will need to be closely supervised at all times. For everyone’s safety and comfort, we ask that parents stay mindful of the pool area.

WHAT TIME SHOUD I ARRIVE?

Please arrive 30–45 minutes before the ceremony begins to grab a seat, enjoy a pre-ceremony drink, and mingle a bit! We promise the ceremony will start MOSTLY on time… And if you’re on the Burkett side (you know who you are), you better hope the bride is running later than you!
