It’s DAVID TIME! Oops, we mean story time.
We’re here to share a little about David & Jasmine, and their journey together.
If you didn’t know this already, Jasmine is a huge fan of the sun. She will do anything to find the sunniest spot in the room, or will go outside to soak in those rays while also enjoying the outdoors. If you could imagine, she had a troubled time being told to stay inside during COVID19. With the need to get outside, feel the fresh air and sun on her face, Jasmine began to go for walks - and yes, sometimes alone.
Jasmine was out for a walk one late afternoon and realized she was getting very lost due to the mountain bike trails. It started to rain and her phone was also running out of battery, so she was pretty worried for her safety. Thankfully she posted an Instagram story during her walk that David decided to respond to. David messaged back and forth with Jasmine until she found her way out of the forest. This was just the beginning of Chapter 2, as David was smooth enough to ask her to go for a walk TOGETHER the next time, making sure she would not get lost.
You might be wondering, how were David & Jasmine connected already on Instagram? Did they meet on social media? Where is Chapter 1!?
Let’s look back a couple years. Jasmine, being consistent in her love for the outdoors, was out for a walk. But this time without the nature. She was on University Avenue in Waterloo. At a stop light across from the school David attended, Wilfrid Laurier (aka the highschool down the street from Jasmine’s university, the University of Waterloo), David was wearing a bucket hat and overalls. Jasmine waited at the same stoplight. Seeing this man in a questionable outfit, she decided to comment on it which started a conversation between the two. They went on a handful of dates after this, before meeting back up several years later, for that walk together in 2020.
That walk transcribed into a couple dates, and an invitation to a cottage weekend that changed everything.
Showing up to the cottage and not even making it down the driveway, David and Jasmine were approached by Tori who was bursting with excitement to show them her very new engagement ring. The weekend was full of love, deep conversations, and dancing. The family and friends Jasmine met felt like her own. This brought David and Jasmine closer together than ever before, and they both had a feeling they would be together for a very long time.
Since 2020, the couple has spent countless hours by each other's sides, and can’t imagine anything different. They found mutual love for the outdoors, especially rollerblading, camping and canoeing, and strengthened their bond over the years with countless trips and renovation projects. They could be considered YES people who love to try new things and explore new places. They are so excited to bring you all together for their wedding weekend celebration by the lake, one of their favourite places to be.
