The tram ride will take you directly to the top of the Sandia Mountain, with fantastic views of Albuquerque and surrounding areas. Tram tickets must be purchased online. Be sure to bring a jacket, as it is much cooler on top of the mountain!

Open space located in the Sandia mountain foothills, great for hikes/walks of various lengths.
This hike (7.5 miles one way) takes you from the base of the Sandia foothills to the top of mountain, with beautiful views throughout the hike. Plan for at least 4 hours of hiking, and be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks!
The La Luz trail finishes close to the top of the Sandia Peak Tram. Oftentimes, people will hike up the La Luz trail, and purchase a one-way ticket down the tram back into Albuquerque. Note, that if you do decide to do this, the base of the tram is not at the same place as the La Luz trailhead.
