This love story started back in 2008, on the second floor of Walnut Grove Secondary School. One day in Ms. Lee's French 10 class, these two love birds sat behind one another. While Jayne was swooned by Mitch's shaggy blonde hair and green zipper hoodie, Mitch was ignorantly unaware of the future beauty of the current unibrow Jayne. A few thrown Mike N Ikes later the swooning ended, but it would later reappear...

During a girls night in May 2018, Amanda (Jayne's MOH) was scrolling through Instagram, only to announce that Mitch Neufeld was currently single, and had one heck of a glow up. The short, shaggy blonde haired boy, was no longer. A couple months at the gym, and some attempts at getting a tan, Mitch had a glow up! Eager to share the news, the photo was shown around the group and in typical Jayne and Ash fashion, they decided Jayne should add Mitch on instagram to continue to ogle his new looks. (No shame haha)

In June 2020, Mitch finally decided to add Jayne back on instagram which then led to Amanda and Ash deciding that Mitch Neufeld was the person for Jayne. They were determined that if the opportunity arose, they would make Jayne reconsider her "no dating someone from high school" theory.

On December 23rd 2020, Mitch decided that he was going to make his move. After a couple scotches and hours of Call of Duty, Mitch sprung into action. At 1:22am, Jayne received notification that Mitch had liked not 1, but 3 of her old instagram photos. By 1:24am, a response to an instagram story started the conversation. Much to Mitch's surprise, Jayne was in fact sleeping and the buzzing of her phone woke her up... Jayne rolled over to check her phone, saw who the message was from, screenshot it, sent it to Amanda and went right back to sleep. The rest was left to be determined...

From messaging back and forth about random things, Mitch decided to hint at a date(which Jayne completely missed). A couple days later, a more clear date was presented and Jayne warned him that she was sarcastic and maybe a little bit mean but would in fact join him on a date.

January 16th, 2021 was the first date. A cold, but brisk walk at the Dyke in Maple ridge, these two lovebirds walked 6 feet apart for about 2 hours. Although Jayne had warned Mitch about her humour, nobody can be prepared. As the date ended, Mitch found out how much Jayne dislikes hugs, and an awkward goodbye was had. On the drive home, two very different conversations were had. Mitch claimed that the date went all wrong, and Jayne had no interest in him... Jayne claimed that she may have been a little bit harsh, but if he could handle it, then she would text him saying she owed him a shot of tequila... The rest is history...

From countless dates, McDonalds trips and Mitch trying to hide his farts, the couple moved in together in February 2022. While the beginning showed to be a test, from kidney stones, mice and COVID, this pair showed no cracks and only grew stronger together. While the two of them enjoyed their apartment life of two, something was missing...

December 3rd, 2023, Bruno (aka Buggy-Boo) joined the family. While his crazy energy, and shark teeth tested these two endlessly, they've been smitten with him ever since.

November 1st, 2024 engagement day. A surprise weekend trip to Roberts Creek, where Mitch and Bruno got down on one knee to propose to Jayne.

Which leads us up to this moment in time. Wedding Day.
