Coming from out of town? What you should know:

Airport: Lambert International Airport is St. Louis's primary airport. There are two terminals that serve different airlines. St. Louis is a hub for Southwest Airlines, and you'll likely find the cheapest flight options on Southwest (always check Google Flights for the best options). The airport is roughly a 25 minute drive from the general area (Forest Park) where the Ceremony &amp; Reception will take place. Getting around the city: St. Louis is a very car-dependent city. We recommend either renting a car or Ubering to get around the city. Where to stay? We have reserved an optional hotel block at the Hampton Inn &amp; Suites at 5650 Oakland Ave St. Louis, MO 63110. It is a 4 minute drive to the ceremony venue and 10 minute drive reception venue. To take advantage of the room block, please call the hotel directly at (314)-655-3993 and mention the Vanatta/Hollmann wedding. The block will get a 15% discounted rate which should be around ~$175-225/night. The wedding block discount is not available online, only by calling the hotel. The discount will be available as long as the hotel is not sold out. If you want to look at other options, guests looking to stay near both the Ceremony &amp; Reception venues as well as close to St. Louis attractions should stay around Forest Park, Clayton, Midtown, downtown St. Louis, Maplewood, The Hill, or Tower Grove Park. These areas offer several things to do (check out our travel guide on this website), are a ~15 minute or less drive away from the event, and are considered safe areas to stay.

St. Louis Travel Guide 

It means a lot to us that our out-of-town guests have a fun and memorable weekend in St. Louis—a city we both proudly called home for the first 20+ years of our lives. Whether it’s your first time here or you’re just looking for some local recommendations, we’ve got you covered. Food: 1. The Hill: A historic Italian neighborhood with roots back to the 1800s. Its history as a destination for Italian immigrants shaped it into a self-sufficient "Little Italy" that still thrives today.&nbsp;Home of the St. Louis delicacy Toasted Ravioli, this neighborhood is a must-visit. We recommend checking out Zia's on The Hill, Charlie Gitto's, or Rigazzi's. 2. Imo's: St. Louis style pizza is famous and polarizing. You'll either love it or hate it, no inbetween. If you like thin crust with an emphasis on the "thin", then you have to try Imo's.&nbsp;It features a cracker-like crust, a distinct blend of Provel cheese, and is cut into squares or rectangles rather than slices.&nbsp;While Imo's is the most famous, Adam prefers Pirrone's. 3. St. Louis BBQ: We'll already be serving our favorite local BBQ, Salt + Smoke, at the wedding. But if you’re still craving more (and we wouldn’t blame you), we highly recommend checking out Sugarfire for another delicious taste of St. Louis barbecue. 4. Ted Drewe's Ice Cream: Millions flock from all ends of the Earth to try the delicious custard. Yes, their ice cream is THAT good. Jaynie recommends trying the Muddy Mississippi. Attractions: 1. St. Louis Arch: Going in and up the Arch is a must-do. The Gateway Arch, signifying the start to the U.S.'s West, is the tallest man-made monument in the country. It's perfectly symmetrical at 630ft tall and wide. It's technically a U.S. National Park and you can take a 4-minute tram ride to the top and see up to 30 miles in each direction. Warning: If you're prone to claustrophobia, the tram ride can be an issue. 2. Forest Park: Forest Park is in our opinion St. Louis's best attraction. Forest Park is the nation's largest urban park (almost twice as big as NYC's Central Park). It features plenty of fun (and free) attractions such as one of the U.S.'s best zoos and art museums. Our absolute favorite spot here is Art Hill. On a hot summer day you can go to the St. Louis Boat House and rent a paddle boat while you wait for your food to be cooked. This park also was host to the 1904 World's Fair, and much of the architecture here was preserved from that time. Our ceremony will be at the historic Jewel Box which is located within the park. 3. Busch Stadium: Home of the 11-time World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals, come see a baseball game at what is considered by baseball fans to be one of the very best stadiums. If you go to a game, plan to get there early and get dinner and drinks at Ballpark Village across the street. 4. St. Louis Botanical Garden: A hidden gem, St. Louis's Botanical Gardens is one of the best public gardens in the country. Adam and Jaynie have been on a few dates here before, and we particularly love the Japanese Garden area towards the back. 5. Anheuser-Busch: Home to the nation's largest brewery in the biggest beer town in the U.S., get a behind-the-scenes tour of how it's made and learn about the STL's history as a beer city (nearby, Lemp Mansion is also very cool). 6. St. Louis City Museum: Not a museum at all, but rather a totally unique space where anything and everything has been engineered to be a maze and engineering phenomenon. There's no real way to explain this place- it's just worth exploring. Areas to Explore:1. Forest Park: If you have time to explore one area, make this the priority. The Zoo is a good starting place, and other highlights include the Art Museum, Art Hill, the Boat House, Jewel Box, etc. 2. Downtown St. Louis: Highlights include the Arch, Busch Stadium (Cardinals), Enterprise Stadium (Blues), Union Station (ferris wheel, restaurants), the City Museum, and more. 3. The Loop: A cool historic strip near Forest Park and Wash U, there's good eats and shopping here. 4. Soulard: If you want to go out at night, Soulard and nearby downtown (Ballpark Village, Wheelhouse, Paddy O's) are fun areas to hit. Molly's in Soulard is a personal favorite. 5. Central West End: A great date night spot next to Forest Park with lots of great restaurant options (El Burro Loco is a favorite). Check out the World Chess Hall of Fame which is a really cool museum if you like chess.
