Venue details

Important notes:

1. Ankawini Safari Ranch is situated 90km or 100 minutes drive outside of Windhoek.

2. There is no booking-in time for rooms on the wedding day. Rather arrive early and hang out together.

3. All rooms and Venue Tents have linen and towels.

4. Our electricity is generated from solar power, and for this reason there are no kettles and fridges in the rooms. However, there are ceiling and upright fans in rooms, except those that have specifically been treated to repel the heat. Please do not plug additional high-energy-using appliances, such as air coolers or fridges into the wall sockets. You may use hair dryers and curling irons. Ankawini does not supply hairdryers and irons.

5. Breakfast is served from 08h00 until 10h00 in the cellar below the main hall. Guests who did not sleep over at the Venue but want to enjoy breakfast can order and pay for breakfast at the bar. Coffee is available every morning from 06h15 in the main hall in front of the kitchen entrance.

6.“Strippy” steak rolls are available at the bar on Saturdays from 12h00–14h00.

7. Own alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the premises. The bar accepts cash, cards, Pay2cell and PayToday, where bar vouchers will be used. Any amount that remains unused at the end of the function can be claimed in cash and must be handed in before departure.

8. Gates are normally not locked and all three gates slides open by hand. If gates are locked, use code 3211.

9. SUV’s and bakkies are best suited for the drive, but sedans will also manage. The roads are usually quite good but can deteriorate rapidly in the rainy season. Please be careful on wet roads, as slipping can easily occur. Sedan vehicles should be especially vigilant when traversing roads that have partially washed away.

10. The 6km on the D1249 crosses a sidearm of the “Skaaprivier” twice. Please don’t drive here when the river is in flood.

11. Sedan vehicles and trucks should rather take the detour in front of the mountain on the farm. It is signposted accordingly.

12. Please bring warm clothes. Even in summer, it gets cold in the evenings between the mountains.
