Weather in October can be difficult to predict, the average temperature for October 11th is a high of 60 degrees and a low of 37 degrees.
Bring multiple layers of clothes to ensure you're comfortable throughout the weekend.
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Both!
The ceremony will be outside and the dinner reception will take place indoors.
What should I wear?
The dress code for our evening wedding is formal attire (suits for men, ties optional and cocktail dresses or evening gowns for woman) in any color, including black.
What will the reception be like?
Our reception will be different than most weddings. Since each of you will be traveling a long way to get here, we want to emphasize spending quality time with you. We feel extra time spent conversing with each of our guests will provide that quality time more than a dance party would. There will be music, but the dance floor will not be a key feature of our wedding reception.
Will there be a welcome party?
Since our wedding is on a Friday we will not be hosting a welcome party. Our dinner reception will allow ample time for conversation among guests.
How high above sea level will we be?
The Cliff Lodge at Snowbird sits at 8,000 feet above sea level.
Salt Lake City sits at 4,200 feet above sea level.
What can I do to prevent altitude sickness?
- Drink plenty of water! Utah is a desert so you will need to drink extra water
- Limit alcohol consumption, alcohol at elevation will be stronger than sea level
- Take it easy your first 24 hours to let your body adjust, don't plan any strenuous activity-
Will Children be allowed at the wedding?
As much as we love your children, this will be an adults-only event. We appreciate your understanding.
Will there be alcohol at the reception?
Yes, please bring your photo ID to the reception, Utah has weird alcohol laws and will card everyone.
A gentle reminder, we will be at an elevation of over 8,000 feet so be ready for the drinks to feel stronger than normal!
