Jeni and Ryan first met in 2013 when Jeni moved into the upstairs apartment in the up-down duplex where Ryan was living. For the next 8 years, they were good neighbors, although they rarely spoke more than a casual greeting in the stairwell. When the pandemic hit, they began taking daily walks together around the neighborhood to get out of their apartments and have some social interaction. Those daily walks led to movie nights, holiday meals and celebrations, and fixing up the back patio together. After only a few months, they were hanging out nearly every day, although it took another year or so before they realized they had fallen in love.
