Although the Cape gets quiet in the late fall, downtown Falmouth has several restaurants and bars to visit during the weekend! Falmouth heights beach marks the end of the Falmouth road race, grab a drink at The Wharf or Shipwrecked, another bar near by, for a beautiful view!
Looking for a casual place with a great view? Look no further! Tree House Brewing has a beautiful indoor area with high top tables and glass windows all around, as well as an outdoor area with picnic tables to relax and enjoy a nice beer right on the water! Watch out, it could be a bit windy in October, so bring your jacket!
This is a cute little spot if the weather allows! The winery is outside, however they have several heat lamps and gas tables if it is a bit cold! Usually they do have pizza trucks for some food while you sip. Like most wineries, feel free to bring your own food and snacks as well!
If you wish to venture off cape, the Woods Hole ferry is a quick ride to Martha's Vineyard. While on the island, enjoy lunch and shopping in Edgartown or for a more active visit, there are loads of bike rentals and a large bike trail.
Another ferry that will take you to Martha's Vineyard that is a bit closer to the Coonamessett. Take the ferry from Falmouth Terminal to Oaks Bluff on the Vineyard and have yourself a day!
If you are feeling adventurous, the shining sea bikeway travels 10.7 miles across an ancient coastal plane through woodlands, salt marshes, cranberry bogs and more! It is the only bikeway on cape cod that has a section along the seashore. Ending in Wood's Hole you can stop at Pie in the Sky for a pastry, lunch or coffee, or visit several of the other restaurants in the Woods Hole area.
Bikes are available to rent at the start of the path.
