Our Story

Photos

Phebs (pronounced Febs) is Jenn's 12 yo son who is incredibly excited to officially make James part of the family! He is an amazing artist who loves to make up songs, be silly, watch anime, and try out new make up ideas. Jenn is so proud of Phebs and so grateful that they adore James as much as she does. Phebs will likely be way better dressed than Jenn on the big day, but as a mom to a stylish kiddo, she just has to get used to that.

Phebs Noble (They/He)

Krischelle and Jenn have been friends since they started attending Harry Potter Trivia together. They hit it off immediatly and a strong friendship started forming, which has only gotten better over the years. They share a love in personal growth, social justice, silliness, and general geekery which means they are made for each other. Jenn is so honored to have Krischelle by her side as she marries James.

Krischelle Love (She/Her)

Dave is Jenn's oldest friend and is flying in all the way from Scotland to be here! They have known each other for nearly 20 years when they first met on a Harry Potter Survivor role play forum board. Yes you read that correctly! They have stayed close friends all these years and Jenn couldn't be happier to have him and his family in California to celebrate with her!

David Turnbull (He/Him)

Alison and Jenn have known each other since before their little ones could even walk. Their friendship grew over the years as their children did. They love getting together to have some good food and drinks while the kids entertain themselves. Which has gotten easier as they have gotten older!

Alison Sikola (She/Her)

Jamiellin and Jenn's friendship has spanned activities from Harry Potter Trivia to Bridgeton experiences. Anytime they're together you know you're about to have a good time! Jenn is so honored that Jamiellin would be such a special part of her big day and she knows she's in good hands with her amazing friend.

Jamiellin Kelsey (She/Her)

Jane and Jenn first got to know each other playing board games years ago. Something they still love to do all the time! Jane was always there for Jenn during the pandemic, and especially while Jenn was first dating James. Making Jane pretty much responsible for this wedding!

Jane Barrow (She/Her)

A regular from James’s Dive Bar Thursdays meetup, Tyler is an incredible chef, a master of puns, a chief of puzzles, a great artist, and a darn good friend.

Tyler Sellmayer (He/Him)

Since meeting at St. Mary’s Young Adult Ministry shortly after James moved to the Bay Area, he and Clarissa have shared a long friendship that’s as comfortable discussing their faith as they are their nerdy joy for Doctor Who and Harry Potter.

Clarissa Cordonnier (She/Her)

An invaluable member of James’ weekly pub-trivia team “Punderdome”, Jason is better at music trivia than anyone James knows. (Himself included!)

Jason Jacobs (He/Him)

After Scoby & James met back in UC Santa Cruz during their Intro to Acting class, they became roommates across 4 apartments and BFFs across 21 years (with the in-jokes to prove it!)

Scoby Socially (She/Her)

Also a member of team Punderdome with James, Pat is an excellent Dungeon Master, a brand new dad, and always has a great suggestion for new anime for Phebs and the family to check-out.

Patrick Marinelli (He/Him)

Kathryn is the daughter of Jane and the youngest member of the bridal party. She is already super independent and loves doing things on her own. Kathryn gives amazing hugs and is always so happy to see Phebs when he is able to babysit her. Jenn and James are so happy to have Kathryn be their flower bringer and can't wait see how cute she'll be on the day!

Kathryn (She/Her)

Moses is the child of James' good friends, Katie and Cedric. They are incredibly energetic, social and thoughtful. Jenn has gotten to know Moses over the last few years and both her and James are so excited to have Moses be one of their ring bringers.

Moses (They/He)

Peppy is the oldest daughter of Krischelle and big sister to Cleo. She is incredibly imaginative and supportive to all those around her. She is an amazing big sister to both Cleo and her new baby sister Felix. Jenn and James are so happy that Peppy will be one of their ring bringers and so thankful that Peppy created the term Ring Bringer!

Peppy (She/Her)

Cleo is the middle daughter of Krischelle and little sister to Peppy. She is daring and kind and incredibly honest. Jenn and James are thrilled that Cleo is helping to bring the bubbles down the aisle!

Cleo (She/Her)

Lyra is the daughter of Dave. She and her family are flying all the way over from Scotland to be there on this special day! Lyra is super social, energetic and fierce. Jenn and James are so delighted that Lyra is excited to be in charge of walking the bubbles down the aisle.

Lyra (She/Her)

Zoe is Alison's oldest daughter and older sister to Zin. She is incredibly intelligent and quick witted. Phebs and Zoe first met when they weren't even walking yet at a mom's group Jenn and Alison attended. They've grown up together ever since!

Zoe (She/Her)

Zin is Alison's youngest daughter and little sister to Zoe. She is wonderfully energetic, social and vibrant. Zin is known to give some of the best hugs ever but be prepared to be squished! Jenn has known Zin since she was in Alison's tummy and has watched her grow up to be an amazing person. James has gotten to know both Zoe and Zin over the last few years and is so excited to have them both be apart of the wedding!

About the Historic Rengstorff House

We're so excited to welcome you all to the historic Rengstorff House, Mountain View’s oldest home and one of the finest examples of Victorian Italianate architecture on the West Coast! Fully restored in 1991, the Rengstorff House features: a Victorian Italianate design with a hip roof; a central gable crowned by a widow's walk; a front portico; and a symmetrical room layout. The gracious dining room and four lovely parlors downstairs, all decorated with classic period décor, open up to brick patios surrounded by manicured lawns, blooming flowers and natural areas. Nearby you will find the Shoreline Lake, Golf Links, and two, classic eateries to enjoy and explore. Saved from destruction and then beautifully furnished by a community-based organization known as the Friends of "R" House, the facility features ornate brass chandeliers, plaster rosettes, push-button light switches, Bradbury & Bradbury wallpaper designs and Eastlake furniture. The 12-room, 3,955 square foot structure is graced with 11-foot ceilings on the first floor and 10-foot ceilings on the second story. Please join us to learn more about the story of this unique facility, so that it may be appreciated and benefit many generations to come. HENRY RENGSTORFF

Like so many others of his generation, Henry Rengstorff was lured to California by stories of the gold rush. At the age of 21, young Henry sailed around Cape Horn and arrived in San Francisco in 1850. Too late to join the gold rush, he took a job on a Bay steamer traveling between San Francisco and Alviso. Later, he became a farm laborer in Santa Clara Valley where he saved enough money to purchase squatter's rights to 290 acres of land in San Jose. As Rengstorff's fortune grew, so did his land holdings. Just three years after his first land purchase, Henry added another 290 acres to his holdings. He raised grain and hay near Milpitas, kept cattle in San Mateo and planted fruit trees in Los Altos. Finally in 1864, Henry bought the 164 acres of land which is now part of Shoreline Business Park north of the Bayshore Freeway. Near where Rengstorff House stands today, Rengstorff built a ship landing. The Rengstorff Landing played a significant role in the economic development of Mountain View and the Peninsula. Prospering farmers exported their lumber, fruits and grains. Returning ships brought hardware and building supplies for the growing region. On a site framed by orchards and the San Francisco Bay, rancher and entrepreneur Henry Rengstorff and Christine Hassler-Rengstorff set about building his family home in a quiet place yet to be known as Mountain View. The Rengstorff home reverberated with the sounds of their children: Mary, John, Elise, Helena, Christine, Henry and Charles. When Rengstorff died in 1906 at age 77, his daughter Elise Rengstorff Haag and her husband moved into the family home, bringing with them Perry Askam, the orphaned son of Elise's sister, Helena Rengstorff Askam. Perry inherited the house after his aunt died. In 1959, Askam sold the house to a land development company. A succession of owners held the property over the next 20 years. In 1979, the house was purchased by the City of Mountain View, eventually moved to its present site and restored. In March 1991, the Rengstorff House was dedicated as a public facility by Mountain View's City Council. Rengstorff House now stands a source of civic pride and serves as the oldest home in Mountain View as well as one of the finest examples of Victorian Italianate architecture on the West Coast.
