Ill let Mike kick this off

Our story perfectly encapsulates the phrase “right place at the right time”. Jenna was raised in Iowa, spent her college years in Chicago, and most of her professional career in New York City. Mike was raised, spent his college years, and most of his professional career around various areas in Pennsylvania. Our careers brought us both to Greensboro, NC in 2018. On June 2nd, 2019, fate brought us together.

Now let me step in and paint the picture for you. It was June 2nd 2019 and a beautiful summer day in Greensboro, NC (like usual) I was at my apartment complex poolside as I was most weekends. Enjoying conversation and listening to music with my friend Becca. I look up and across the pool and notice a very handsome gentleman. Immediately.....and I mean immediately I stood up and said "i need to know that man" and proceed to walk towards where he was sitting. At this point he had gotten in the water , so I sat on his chair and started making small talk to his friend. I introduced myself to the friend, and looked at Mike and said "Im sitting on your chair" to which he responded with a slight smile and said "go ahead" Conversation quickly switched to discussing Marvel vs DC and arguing over who the best batman was, we were in our own little world going back and forth. I mentioned that my favorite vigilante was the Punisher and Mike asked if I had ever seen the TV series, and I hadn't. As the afternoon started to turn into evening I asked a simple question "are you going to ask for my number or what" ....Now this is not how I typically conduct myself and it could have gone a million different ways but before I could second guess my choice of words and tone, Mike responded "yes if you give me a chance" Mike did not live in the complex and happened to be there for the first time with his friend Drew. We exchanged numbers and went our separate ways. I was going out of town on a family vacation a few days later and thought to myself (as the kids would say) "I need to lock this down". I invited him over for my famous margaritas and he suggested we also watch the tv series Punisher. This made me quite nervous because I have a terrible habit of falling asleep anytime someone puts something on the tv and well you know, stranger danger. Mike came over and we had great conversation, we googled random facts about what percentage of the rain forest had actually been explored (spoiler- its 5-10%) and of course watching the Punisher into the late hours. We didn’t see each-other again before I left to spend time with my family but continued to talk every single day. During vacation I had told my family that I met the man I was going to marry.

Mike here…...let me finish this thing off. From that point on we would spend most of our free time together. A year and a half later I was asked by my work to move back to PA and fortunately Jenna was working remotely and able (and willing) to move with me. We bought and closed on our first home in McDonald, PA on April 23, 2021. On October 7th, 2022, I took Jenna to the same pool we met in Greensboro, NC (almost exact poolside spot Jenna was telling me Michael Keaton was her batman) and proposed.
