Our wedding and reception will be held at the historic Lake County courthouse located at 1, W Clark St, Crown Point, IN 46307.

Parking around the courthouse can be tricky. This is the heart of downtown and The Square is made up of one-way streets. There is street parking if you can find it, and there are several nearby parking lots that are a short walk away. Parking time restrictions are not in effect during the weekend.

Here is a Google Map of relevant locations.

Parking Map 1 Note! I'm keeping this map, because I think it does a better job at showing the parking lots and land marks. It labels street parking around the courthouse as time exempt on Saturdays. This is NOT TRUE. 3 of the 4 streets have 2 hour parking on Saturday. I suspect it is all streets, but Joliet St. has no sign. Park there at your own risk.

We recommend that you stay at the Hampton Inn in Crown Point. Alternatively the Fairfield Inn and Hampton in Merrillville have a room block and special rate for the wedding. There will be transportation between the hotels and the courthouse.

The Lake County Courthouse, affectionately referred to as the "Grand Old Lady," eloquently displays combined architectural styles: Romanesque and Georgian. Designed by J. C. Cochran of Chicago, Illinois, this ornate building has been a landmark in Lake County since its erection in 1878. The Courthouse depicts an age of advancement for Lake County, one of great economic expanse of the oil industry forged by John D. Rockefeller and the beginning of the steel mills by Judge Elbert Gary, making the Calumet Region one of the greatest industrial regions of the world.
