May 2022 - Amit and Jenna connected on the dating app Bumble. After a few months of trying out Bumble and experiencing a terrible date the week prior, Jenna was a bit weary. Little did she know that a first date with Amit on May 20, 2022 would turn out the way it did! Jenna and Amit spent over 3 hours enjoying delicious food at Sarma, a Mediterranean restaurant in Somerville, MA. Date after date, week after week, it quickly turned into a relationship that summer, filled with fun and laughter. The announcement of them becoming official was even posted at the gym on a mini-whiteboard and put on display for all to see.

As time went on, and Amit continued to find ways to make Jenna laugh with his goofiness, they started spending more and more time together. Jenna happened to book a dinner reservation for February 14, they went on vacation to Costa Rica in May 2023, talked about moving in together for the fall of 2023, and had conversations about getting married.

Jenna, being the planner that she is, made sure to get Amit the ring specifications quickly after it was first discussed in May. Amit, being the non-planner that he is, finally initiated them going to the jeweler together in August. The ring that was picked out was going to take 4-5 weeks to come in, and Jenna could not keep waiting! Upon suggestion from the jeweler, they picked out the wedding band to be used for the proposal, and it was ready 1 week later. Amit picked out the Acton Arboretum for the proposal location on the way home from the jeweler.

Amit wanted to do something a little more formal for when the ring came in. Amit and Jenna came up with the idea of a sunflower field and booked a ticket that was at the four week mark. When the time came, Jenna was thinking the ring might be in but did not want to push asking about it. She was hoping Amit had picked up the ring and would propose when they went to the sunflower field. They were walking through the field, and at some point, Jenna asked if the ring came in, and Amit said the jeweler said it would be another week. Jenna was feeling a little sad at the thought of having to wait another week. She was also a bit doubtful and said “are you sure?” while trying to playfully check his pockets. They continued to walk through the field, and Amit asked Jenna to stand next to a sign for a picture. Jenna was a bit baffled but did as asked. When she turned around in preparation for her photo to be taken, Amit had taken the box out of his pocket, opened it to show the ring, and asked Jenna to marry him (again). Jenna smiled, hugged him, and then said yes while the ring got on her finger.
