We are SO fortunate to live in such an amazing area!!!
You will be very close to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with beautiful drives in nature, overlooks for amazing views, and trails for hiking. Also, it will be fall so the leaves may be changing and it will be breathtaking.
Also, a short drive away, you can find Gatlinburg with lots to do/see and Pigeon Forge with many fun activities and outlet malls.
If you have any interest in whitewater kayaking or rafting, there are multiple rivers nearby including the Ocoee and the Nantahala.
Knoxville is just 20 minutes up the road (depending on the time of day) from Maryville so you can experience "big city" life in the home of the Tennessee Volunteers! Wear Orange if you want to fit in - it will be football season.
Some of our favorite spots are added below and you can certainly Google for things to do in the area. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!!
You can find tons of information on-line.
An early morning drive through Cade's Cove may allow animal viewing to include horses, deer, foxes, coyotes, and black bears.
It will be fall and the leaves may be changing. This will be beautiful if you stop at Newfound Gap and/or Clingman's Dome. You can go a little further and visit historic Cherokee.
There are over 900 miles of hiking trails for all ability levels. Just let us know what you would like to do and we can make some recommendations!
I just put the Welcome Center in for a basic address. There are quaint shops, good restaurants, an aquarium with a shark tunnel, and the sky bridge with spectacular views and glass panels as part of the walkway.
I put in the island to give an address. There are many things to do - including taste testing some moonshine! However, there are all types of activities (go carts, put put golf, etc.) in Pigeon Forge - including outlet malls, a Titanic Museum, Wonderworks, and Dollywood!
I put in the UT Gardens to create an address. There are so many things to do here including, not only Vol football, but also a great zoo, several botanical gardens, hiking trails, mountain biking trails, flat water paddling, Ijams Nature Center, concerts/theatre, amazing local restaurants, and the Sun Sphere, built during the 1982 World's Fair.
