I mean, we would say nothing, but we do understand there are social conventions by which we must abide. So please dress for hot weather. July tends to be quite warm. Bring a light jacket in case it cools off after the sun goes down. Wear sandles or footwear made for grass and sand. You'll probably want to chuck your shoes at some point and stick your feet in the river.
What is this venue?
Our dear friends have offered to host the event at their home. It's not an official venue--it's a residential home on the river. We'll put up balloons on their address sign so you know where to turn.
What type of food will be served?
We will be having tacos (gluten free) with a couple types of meat and a vegetarian offering. We'll have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well. We will have a couple sides to fill out the meal. We are eating picnic style, so folks will fill their plates, and either sit on blankets in the grass, or at tables. We will not have assigned seating.
What about Sun Protection?
We anticipate the sun to go down during the event. It gets totally dark aroun 10 or so. But DO bring sun hats, sublock, and sun protection. We'll have umbrellas and shady places to hide, and water to keep you hydrated. It could get smokey-- summers in these mountains sometimes come with forest fires. But let's manifest perfect air for July 20!
What is the vibe of this wedding?
Mountain Picnic Party! Some of the best parts of small-town summer mountain celebrations include having live music in a beautiful setting, dancing and relaxing with good people. Shoes off, feet in the grass, or holding a can of beer while standing up to your knees in the river. That's the vibe of a good mountain party: Everything that makes you grateful about the place and people you love.
