Traditional Dances

La víbora de la mar: This dance starts off with the bride and groom standing on separate chairs and forming an arch by holding hands. Family and friends support the couple to make sure they don't fall. Guests who want to participate make a "snake" by holding hands. The "snake" then dances under and around the arch of the new couple trying to bump into them knock them down. The dance represents the challenges the new couple may face in their marriage and their strength to overcome them. (Warning: this dance can get fast, crazy, and dangerous.)

Example Video

El baile del Mandilon: In this dance, the groom carries a child while wearing an apron and sweeping with a broom. Behind him, the bride uses a belt to make sure he stays on top of everything while drinking. This dance jokes that the married man does everything the wife says now as he is under her control/command. It's a humorous take on the new couple's responsibilities and new partnership.

Example Video

El baile del dolar/billete: Guests choose if they want to dance with either the bride or the groom and form a line. Once it's a guest's turn, they can use safety pins to pin dollar bills of any amount onto the bride or groom's outfit. This is a short dance that helps support the new couple with their honeymoon or new home expenses.

Church Ceremony

The ceremony is at a catholic church. We will be having a bilingual half mass.

Reception Hall

The reception will take place in Clem's Hall which is an indoor venue. It is a bit small, but there are restrooms provided. There is no seating chart or designated spots for guests other than the immediate families of the groom and the bride.

Gifts

Your presence is truly the greatest gift, but if you’d like to bring something, you’re more than welcome to. For inspiration, feel free to browse our registry.

Guests

Are kids welcome? Absolutely! We just ask that little ones are supervised so everyone can enjoy the celebration safely.

Is it okay to bring additional guests who weren’t listed on the invitation? We kindly ask that only those listed on the invitation attend. Our reception space has a limited capacity, and we hope to keep the celebration intimate with the people we know and love.
