May 4, 2015: Where it all began! Thomas moved to Port aux Basques and met Jennifer for the first time! Late 2015: Thomas and Markus (Jennifer's brother) started to hang out. Thomas was often very conveniently at Jennifer's house. "Oh, I'm just here to hang out with Markus." Sure, Thomas. Sure 👀 Meanwhile... Jennifer and Olivia (Thomas' sister) became close too! Who knew they were bonding with their future in-laws? (Yes, Olivia knew about the crush.) February 14, 2016: Thomas asked Jennifer to the school dance! 🕺 Big moment. Super cute. Very middle school. February 16, 2016: Thomas stood Jennifer up to the school dance and went to Tim Hortons instead. Yes, seriously. He ditched her for Timbits. 🍩 Sometime in 2017: The era of awkward hallway encounters, Snapchat streaks, and "accidental" run-ins. October 5, 2017: Thomas confessed to Jennifer that he had a crush on her. Took him long enough. Everyone already knew. October 8, 2017: Jennifer officially became Thomas' girlfriend! 👫 October 19, 2017: The first time Thomas and Jennifer said "I love you!" ❤️ October 29, 2017: Thomas and Jennifer's first kiss! 💋 Somewhere in a small town under a porch light. Very cinematic. April 2019: Thomas and Jennifer's first trip together! To Spain and Portugal on a school trip! 🇪🇸🇵🇹 March 2020: The beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Jennifer would sneak out of her house in the middle of the night just to see Thomas 😷 Rebellious? Maybe. Worth it? Absolutely. May 2020: Thomas' high school graduation in the midst of the pandemic 🧑‍🎓 No stage, no crowd, just a cap, gown, and a proud girlfriend. September 2020: Thomas left for college! The beginning of 5 long years of long-distance 🥺 Different provinces. Countless FaceTime's. But zero doubts. June 2021: Jennifer's high school graduation! 👩‍🎓 June 2022: Cruise to the Caribbean with the Sheppard's! 🛳️ Jennifer proving she’s part of the family. October 8, 2022: 5 years together! Half a decade of love, laughter, and growing up side by side. 💕 July 22, 2023: Happy wedding day, Peter and Olivia! (p.s. Jennifer caught the bouquet that day and Thomas caught the hint!) 💐 May 2, 2024: Disney World and Caribbean cruise with the Horwood's ✈️ July 28, 2024: Thomas popped the question &amp; the wedding planning began! 💍

Join our knowledgeable guides for an hour-long trail ride on horseback among the unique scenery of the Southwest Coast. Meet our six registered Newfoundland Ponies, NL’s Heritage Animal. Horses, peacocks, goats, and emus also call our charming farm overlooking the picturesque Grand Codroy River home. We’re only 30 minutes from the Marine Atlantic Ferry in Channel-Port aux Basques.

A moderately strenuous hike to the top of the Long Range Mountains. Overlooking Little Codroy River and Campbell's Lake. Trailhead on TCH near Route 407.

Starlite Trail

The most westerly point in Newfoundland! Discover the scenic 5.5 km Coastangs Trail, perfect for a moderate hike with minimal elevation changes. This trail is a local favourite. Start at Searston or St. Andrew's, where you'll find convenient parking. Marvel at the Long Range Mountains, explore diverse landscapes from old-growth forests to open terrain and witness unique geology. Named for its striking rock formation at Searston, the trail offers breathtaking coastal views, including Barents Head, Nor' West Cove, and Larkin Point.

Coastangs Trail

A peaceful walking trail that runs along the Grand Codroy Wetlands. A birding hotspot area of Codroy Valley which is located across from the Wetland Centre in Upper Ferry. You will enjoy this moderately light walk with look out areas and rest stops along the way. Gravel, natural turf. Distance 3.43 km

Scenic park with beach located at the mouth of the Grand Codroy River. A natural scenic attraction park.

Codroy Valley Provincial Park

A Wetland of International Importance and the only Ramsar site in Newfoundland and Labrador. Information Centre with look out over estuary, Interactive electronics, computer access with wi-fi.
