Our story starts off a little different. I had just been hired on to work for a big tech company. I had saw Flavio at work and I thought that he was attractive. Well, from what I had seen, what I forget to mention is that this was during the pandemic and the only thing that I could see on his face were his eyes and a mask. I was initially apprehensive about approaching him because one we worked together, two he had told me he was 30 and I was 21 at the time, and three I heard my moms' words playing in the back of my head. Don't you ever chase a man. So the first thing I did was ask Flavio to go on a date, sorry mom. 🤣

Our first date was set. We were going to go to my favorite local Puerto Rican restaurant. Then reality hit and the same night I was supposed to have my long awaited first date I had to cancel for a school project that was due the same night. Flavio was disappointed to say the least. He was apprehensive about rescheduling, but I managed to change his mind and we rescheduled. This time instead of going to the Puerto Rican restaurant we opted for sushi. We had our official first date at Kabuki, where I learned Flavio was actually 25 and vegetarian. (Yes, social distancing still in place.) I have never laughed harder in my entire life than on that first date. One date lead to a second, then a third, then on the fourth he was telling everyone I was his girlfriend (though he had not officially asked.) Next thing I knew I was changing his contact to the flaming heart emoji, because that is exactly what he did to mine. It was more than butterflies. Flavio is my best friend and the love of my life. He continues to make me laugh till this very day and I am beyond excited to see what our sweet future holds. I love you so much Flavio. ❤️‍🔥

Nuestra historia comienza de manera un poco diferente. Acababa de ser contratada para trabajar en una gran empresa de tecnología. Había visto a Flavio en el trabajo y pensé que era atractivo. Bueno, de lo que había visto, lo que olvidé mencionar es que esto fue durante la pandemia y lo único que podía ver en su cara eran sus ojos y una mascarilla. Inicialmente, estaba aprensiva sobre acercarme a él porque, uno, trabajábamos juntos, dos, él me había dicho que tenía 30 años y yo tenía 21 en ese momento, y tres, escuchaba las palabras de mi mamá resonando en mi cabeza: "Nunca persigas a un hombre". Así que lo primero que hice fue pedirle a Flavio que saliera conmigo, lo siento mamá. 🤣

Nuestra primera cita estaba fijada. Íbamos a ir a mi restaurante puertorriqueño local favorito. Luego, la realidad me golpeó y la misma noche que se suponía iba a tener mi tan esperada primera cita, tuve que cancelarla por un proyecto escolar que debía entregar esa misma noche. Flavio estaba decepcionado, por decir lo menos. Estaba aprensivo sobre reprogramar, pero logré hacerle cambiar de opinión y reprogramamos. Esta vez, en lugar de ir al restaurante puertorriqueño, optamos por sushi. Tuvimos nuestra primera cita oficial en Kabuki, donde aprendí que Flavio en realidad tenía 25 años y era vegetariano. (Sí, todavía con el distanciamiento social en vigor.) Nunca me había reído tanto en toda mi vida como en esa primera cita. Una cita llevó a una segunda, luego a una tercera, y en la cuarta, él ya le estaba diciendo a todos que yo era su novia (aunque no me lo había pedido oficialmente). Lo siguiente que supe fue que cambié su contacto al emoji de corazón en llamas, porque eso es exactamente lo que hizo con el mío. Fue más que mariposas. Flavio es mi mejor amigo y el amor de mi vida. Él sigue haciéndome reír hasta el día de hoy y estoy más que emocionada de ver lo que nos depara nuestro dulce futuro. Te amo tanto, Flavio. ❤️‍🔥
