We first met in 2008, cross country and the crazy love for running we had in high school wove the initial threads of connection between us. Though our relationship blossomed briefly during those high school days as the innocence of our youth led us to part ways not long after. The attraction remained, although dormant, for years...
It was about five years later - thanks to the creation of Facebook - that we reconnected. Here began our semi long distance relationship while Jenny was in San Diego at UCSD and Sergio in Los Angeles working on becoming a fireman. We had such different, busy lives at the time but made an effort to get to know each other through all the experiences only twenty-one year olds with boundless energy could create.
In our first year dating we went to Maui, HI and Puerto Vallarta, MX together. We quickly realized traveling with each other was incredibly fun as we both held an adventurous spontaneity that made trips extra special.
For the next few years we continued working towards our careers and enjoyed our time together while exploring the world whenever possible. Jenny began her Doctorate Program and Sergio became a fireman with LACoFD. We then moved into our very first apartment together in San Diego which believe it or not, was quite a smooth transition.
During the last year of school, Jenny got a huge opportunity to experience a two month clinical internship in Italy. At the end of it, Sergio transversed his way across Europe and another memorable trip was had exploring Italy, Amsterdam, and Germany together. Here is where Sergio decided to propose - at the Stone Brewing Co in Berlin.
(ask him about his ring adventure - its a wild one)
and of course Jenny said YES!
(it wasn't like she was expecting it or anything ;) )
From there, Jenny graduated and became a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Shortly after, a puppy by the name of Trappy inaugurated our role as fur-parents. We then became home owners and a whole pandemic was experienced together. Fast forward a couple years, another puppy by the name of Issa joined the clan. Add the purchase of a cabin in Big Bear and with that mark another chapter in our shared adventures.
A decade has woven a tapestry of experiences – a medley of highs and lows. What we've learned is that despite the astrological dance of scorpio and sagittarius, we're good together. We love each other immensely and want to continue to do life hand in hand. Hence the decision to FINALLY get married- sealing a love story that has endured, evolved, and flourished over all these years.
