Q + A

How do I get to Guadalajara?

Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Guadalajara International Airport is where you will be flying into. From there you can purchase a taxi ride from one of the kiosks within the airport to take you to your hotel/airbnb Uber drivers are not allowed to pick up at the airports, if you attempt to get one you will need to walk outside of the airport grounds to be picked up on a nearby street. If you are in Los Angeles or San Diego, we highly recommend you depart from the Tijuana airport as it is most cost effective. The Cross Border Xpress (CBX) bridge is easy and convenient to use. There is secure, paid parking for your car on the USA side of the bridge. Once inside the CBX building, you can purchase your round trip bridge ticket for $38 if you didn't already purchase it with your flight. This is an indoor bridge that will lead right into the Tijuana airport for your convenience.

What do I need to know about currency?

In Mexico, they use pesos as their currency. $1 USD = $17.35 MXN Pesos. You can easily pay with a debit/credit card in most places, however there are some boutiques that charge a service fee and consider travel fees if they apply to you. You can also easily withdraw pesos from any bank ATM. The common banks here are BANAMEX, BBVA, Bancomer, & Santander. Keep in mind the withdrawal options will be in PESOS so have your exchange rate calculated and ready when withdrawing money!

When should I arrive?

If you want to take advantage and explore a bit, come a few days before the wedding! We'll be going to the Tlaquepaque dinner the day before the wedding and Tequila trip the day after for anyone that wants to join. We will personally be in Guadalajara starting Tuesday April 16th, we'd be happy to meet up and take you to our favorite spots if you're there earlier in the week!
