Five Rivers MetroParks

A personal favorite of ours, Dayton has a wonderful collection of local parks with lovely scenery and fun trails.

National Museum of the U.S. Air Force (Free!)

The largest military aviation museum in the world — an absolute must-see if you love history, planes, or impressive exhibits.

Carillon Historical Park

An open-air museum celebrating Dayton’s history, from the Wright brothers to antique trains. Walking paths and a bell tower.

America’s Packard Museum

Unique and fascinating — a collection of vintage Packard cars in an art deco building.

Dayton Art Institute

Beautiful galleries plus stunning architecture overlooking the river.

The Neon

An indie movie theater downtown showing new releases and film-festival favorites.

2nd Street Market

Indoor public market with local vendors — great for picking up coffee, snacks, and gifts.

Boonshoft Museum of Discovery

A science and technology zoo and museum that is kid friendly

Local Places to Eat:

Tik's Thai Express

Hoshi Ramen

Old Scratch Pizza

The Pub (our first date spot!)

Ritter's Frozen Custard

If you're looking for other things to do and are open to driving here are some other suggestions:

-Cincinnati or Columbus Zoo

-Yellow Springs: eclectic little town with local shops, near John Bryan State Park and Young's Dairy (mini golf and food)
