We are requiring all guests to bring Proof of Vaccination (digital copy) as we have several guests who have high risk health conditions. If you are also able and willing to get a Covid test 48-72 hours before the event, our guests would be incredibly appreciative! The venue requires this to be a "no kids" event - this means anyone that is younger than 15. WE ARE SO EXCITED TO CELEBRATE AND PARTY WITH YOU!!! :)

THE JTEAM'S STORY

How They Met | Superstar analytics supervisor John Morris and newcomer analyst Jenny Shi met while working at the same advertising agency in New York City - with the luxury of working on different client teams while quickly becoming tequila and trivia buddies at department happy hours. From Jenny’s Perspective | Jenny was eager to build a fun team culture, and set up a team outing to attend a free concert in Brooklyn. After the concert ended, and the team huddled in a circle to determine the next move for continued alcoholic activities, John stood to the left of Jenny, and that was the first moment she felt butterflies. Earlier that year, Jenny had made a personal decision to attend as many music festivals and concerts as she could with the PTO she had. She purchased a birthday gift for herself to attend an electronic dance music concert at Madison Square Garden and the headliner just so happened to host a city-wide scavenger hunt challenge, where Jenny and another friend won another set of tickets. With an extra ticket at hand, Jenny offered it to John. This would be the first night they held hands, and the very first of many concerts they would attend (fun fact - John’s brother and Best Man, Sam, was at the same concert!). But Jenny still wasn’t convinced that John liked her back.&nbsp; That same month, John helped arrange a karaoke event to celebrate all October birthday babies in the department. A few gin &amp; tonics into the night, Jenny sent John a long text message along the lines of “I like you, but if you don’t like me back, I’ll be cool - I promise!”. The rest is history. John and Jenny knew early on into their relationship that they wanted to move out of New York City. Eventually, they landed on Colorado - the land of craft beer, no humidity and a smaller population of mosquitoes. It was here that Jenny fell more in love with John’s witty banter, ridiculously long eyelashes, masterful skills for cleaning, endless energy for hiking, and unconditional love and support for Jenny’s career growth. Now 7 years’ in, it feels like they’ve already been married for forever, but Jenny is so excited to see what’s yet to come! She has been patiently waiting to be a dog owner for more than 2 decades now. ;)&nbsp; From John’s Perspective | John and Jenny worked in the same department at Zenith Media, but on different clients. They developed a professional respect for each other, and got to know each other through work events and happy hours. They grew closer over their shared love for bar trivia, tequila, music and concerts, and after they became officially boyfriend and girlfriend, their relationship grew through a shared love of food - tasting their way through dry-aged beef burgers, tacos (lots of tacos!), Korean fried chicken - and John introduced Jenny to her new favorite way of dining: chef’s tasting menus and bartender’s choice for cocktails. Pretty early into their relationship, they decided they wanted to move out of NYC, and landed on moving to Colorado in 2015. 6 years’ living in Colorado has given John and Jenny so much life and adventure! John and the Morris family introduced Jenny to downhill skiing (though she’s more partial to cross-country skiing now), to the lifestyle of hot-tubbing in the snowy weather and après ski, and to his family’s favorite Vail restaurant, Sweet Basil. They’ve been to numerous Red Rocks concerts - John particularly enjoys that the park has paved the Upper North Lot parking lot - it’s 100% the best place to park and tailgate compared to the rest of the parking options, and he proudly accepts that this means he and Jenny are getting older (and wiser)!&nbsp; They also both enjoy hiking - John discovered the Lion’s Lair trailhead which quickly became his favorite at-dusk hike, and most recently in the pandemic, both he and Jenny would hike Lion’s Lair twice a week together. This would be the trail where John proposed, in only the most JTEAM way. John found 2 perfect places for the proposal, however Jenny wasn’t hyped about taking stops at new places on the trail - she even said it’d be rude to stand on one of the giant boulders (she really had no clue what was about to happen). Pivoting quickly, John stopped for some water, pulled the ring box out from the Camelbak and exclaimed, “something’s happening!!!” - she said, “YES”! They’ve grown so much together as a couple in Colorado, having gone through several job changes, both turning 30, attending several music festivals a year, and recently both diving into their musical hobbies of music production (Jenny) and electric guitar and pedal-board curation (John). John is so excited to laugh through life with Jenny and to see how their relationship continues to grow!

Welcome to the land of craft beer and hiking! There's tons of local breweries and hiking trails in the area. John and Jenny are listing a few of their favorites, but if you've got a little extra time to explore Colorado, they'd be happy to provide even more recommendations!

Catch a concert, see the amphitheatre, or hike the trails at Red Rocks! If you have time, the JTEAM highly recommends seeing a show here - it's one of their favorite venues!

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

John proposed to Jenny at the top of Lion's Lair trail! This is their absolute favorite trail to hike, and it's right in their backyard. Lion's Lair trail is a longer hike that gains elevation more slowly and has a ton of tree cover. If you're ready to climb some stairs, the Sanitas Trailhead will peak at the same peak as Lion's Lair, but it'll definitely get your heartrate going!

Lion's Lair And Sunshine Canyon Trails

There's a ton of hiking options here! John and Jenny love the Wild Basin hike where you can leisurely walk around the park and see 3 waterfalls and many more smaller cascades. If you're feeling adventurous, Finch Lake is a 9 mile roundtrip hike that gets to almost 10k feet above sea level.

A fine dining take on Spanish tapas, Corrida was John’s extra engagement dinner reservation surprise! Pre-pandemic, if you ordered one of their signature gin and tonics, they would bring around a cart of all the ingredients and make it tableside. Fingers’ crossed they’ll bring this restaurant tradition back in 2022!

There are 2 Upslope brewery locations in Boulder, but this location holds a special place in Jenny’s heart. Right next door to the agency where she previously worked at, Upslope became the extra conference room, the weekly 1:1 space, and the office happy hour hang. A simple message of “sloooooope” was the beckoning call to rally team members to grab a brew (or a few brews) next door.

Jane - Maid of Honor

Sister of the bride, there’s probably no one who has more embarrassing and hilarious sister stories than Jane. Loyal, responsible (much more so!) and always down for a travel or food adventure, Jane has been massively impactful to and supportive of Jenny’s hunger for adventure. Going on a trip overseas and need recommendations for site-seeing, hiking and dining? Jane’s your gal!

Deirdre - Bridesmaid

Jenny’s oldest and dearest friend, Deirdre has seen all of Jenny’s “phases” - yes - including the aggressively emo phase when Jenny had red highlights and long bangs. Deirdre and Jenny met in 3rd grade at a summer drawing camp held by a local university, but they didn’t have cell phones back then, and Deirdre went to school in a neighboring school district. By a stroke of luck, they reunited in middle school, visited each other in college, and they’ve been inseparable ever since!

Lauren - Bridesmaid

Before John, Jenny’s heart was already full with work wifey love with Lauren. Lauren was Jenny’s safe space in the company, and was always there for her when she needed a good vent session, or needed to grab that 7th cup of coffee. Lauren and Jenny even auditioned for The Voice together (though they’re not famous just yet)! Weeks before Jenny expressed her feelings to John, she brought the topic up with Lauren, and Lauren’s only response was “John never responds to anyone on the office messenger. If he’s responding to you, he definitely likes you!”. That was the support Jenny needed to finally spill the beans!

Luke - Bridesman

Luke is the brother Jenny never had - someone who’s always been there to drive her home from work functions, someone who’s always down to order another round of beers at 2am, and the one and only person Jenny’s ever made a pact with to quit a job together. Luke is wittier, funnier, and 200% more hippie than Jenny, and also 300% more patient than Jenny - he has to be, with the amount of bother she has in her system! If you need any rafting tips, or want any marketing-related dad jokes, Luke’s your man!

John - Bridesman

John shares the same first name and middle name as the groom, so he’s automatically pretty cool! John also worked at the same Boulder advertising agency as Luke and Jenny, and was one of the first to reach out to Jenny to welcome her into the fold. Bonding over electronic dance music in their “wub wubs” office messenger group chat and greeting each other with “suh dude”s, if Jenny were a bro, this would be a classic bromance.

Pancho - Bridesman

Pancho is possibly the nicest human Jenny’s ever met. A friend of John’s brother and best man, Sam, Pancho shares the same kind of love for electronic dance music and headbanging as John and Jenny. Pancho is sunshine, and possibly one of the smartest academics who will never brag about his own accolades. If you need one of the world’s best hugs, Pancho is of the top echelon (and so is Sam, John’s brother!).&nbsp;

The Groom Crew

Sam - Best Man

Brother of the Groom, Sam manifests fun. Close as young kids, Sam was John’s World of Warcraft buddy, and as an adult, Sam is the go-to resource for all things music, festivals and bottomless brunches. He has a glowing charisma and is often the group leader or party host! Sam has been there through the entire relationship - John introduced Jenny to Sam before they even talked about liking each other - and with open arms, Sam made Jenny feel comfortable, accepted, and ready to party! Even living thousands of miles away, Sam and the #jteam have kept the party vibes alive by skiing, going to concerts, and chilling at Lake George together.

Reeves - Groomsman

Reeves and John go way back, having met while spending summers together at the Lake George Club. They’re inseparable and they lived together during the summer of 2009. Their mannerisms are so similar, no one knows who started what first, but one thing’s for sure - if you put them in a room together for 30 minutes, they’ll start to sound exactly like each other! Fast forward to today, Reeves is John’s first call when he’s visiting the lake. Loyal, kind, and cheeky, Reeves always lights up the mood and gets everyone laughing. If you need a good laugh, or interior design tips (he’s amazing!), Reeves’s your man!

Nick - Groomsman

A fellow Skidmore College Wombat (ultimate frisbee), Nick and John met in college and took several business classes together. Always up for a party or a late night out, Nick is the perfect example of “work hard, play harder”! Their friendship grew even stronger while living in NYC, going to concerts together, grabbing brunch together, and exchanging anime recommendations.

Jeff - Groomsman

Another fellow Wombat, Jeff was one of 3 of John’s college roommates. While both studying abroad in Europe, they enjoyed a trip to Istanbul together, and also met up in London to grab some late-night kebabs. Quick as a whip, Jeff knows pretty much everything there is to know about car racing and cars. He even brought John to his first auto-cross and Formula 1 races!&nbsp;

Max - Groomsman

Another fellow Wombat and college roommate, Max is easily the most calming and soothing presence you’ll ever experience! During college, Max, John and Evan came up with the idea of launching a radio show called the “Toasted Raggamuffin with Butter Show” - just 3 college bros connecting over their love of all things reggae. Now living in Oregon and finishing up getting his phD, Max is well on his way to becoming the wine connoisseur of the group - John is so excited to visit him in Oregon someday to get the full wine tour!&nbsp;

Evan - Groomsman

Evan’s another fellow Wombat, college roommate and reggae radio host. He’s got a proclivity for identifying birds (Jenny has an album of random bird photos she still needs to show him to help her identify some of the unique species in Colorado), and shares a love of music with John. While in college, he and John would often play guitar together, and on top of that, their parents are huge jam band lovers and often go to shows together. The love for music runs deep in both families!
