Lion's Lair And Sunshine Canyon Trails

John proposed to Jenny at the top of Lion's Lair trail! This is their absolute favorite trail to hike, and it's right in their backyard. Lion's Lair trail is a longer hike that gains elevation more slowly and has a ton of tree cover. If you're ready to climb some stairs, the Sanitas Trailhead will peak at the same peak as Lion's Lair, but it'll definitely get your heartrate going!

There's a ton of hiking options here! John and Jenny love the Wild Basin hike where you can leisurely walk around the park and see 3 waterfalls and many more smaller cascades. If you're feeling adventurous, Finch Lake is a 9 mile roundtrip hike that gets to almost 10k feet above sea level.

A fine dining take on Spanish tapas, Corrida was John’s extra engagement dinner reservation surprise! Pre-pandemic, if you ordered one of their signature gin and tonics, they would bring around a cart of all the ingredients and make it tableside. Fingers’ crossed they’ll bring this restaurant tradition back in 2022!

There are 2 Upslope brewery locations in Boulder, but this location holds a special place in Jenny’s heart. Right next door to the agency where she previously worked at, Upslope became the extra conference room, the weekly 1:1 space, and the office happy hour hang. A simple message of “sloooooope” was the beckoning call to rally team members to grab a brew (or a few brews) next door.
