How long should I plan to stay in Costa Rica?
We're so thrilled you want to join us for our wedding! We are planning to host two events, a welcome reception + gaye holud on June 26th, followed by the wedding ceremony + reception on June 27th. We recommend arriving in Costa Rica on Wednesday the 25th at the latest. Beyond this, how long you visit the country for is entirely up to you!
Note - we will likely plan an optional event for Saturday, June 28th to spend time with our friends!
Costa Rica has two airports, which should I fly into?
If you are planning to travel straight to the wedding location, we HIGHLY recommend flying into Guanacaste Liberia Airport (LIR). The San Jose airport is ~5 hour drive from our venue.
Also, please do not accidentally purchase a flight to Liberia, the West African country.
How do I get to Tamarindo from the Liberia airport?
You are free to coordinate your own transportation from Liberia Airport to Tamarindo (rent a car, bus, shuttle, etc.).
For your convenience, our wonderful wedding planner can help you with scheduling a shuttle directly to the Diria (or wherever you're staying). With this option, prices are $100 + 13% tax per person for a round trip service and $50 + 13% tax per person for a one way service.

What is a gaye holud and what should I wear?
The Gaye holud (pronounced guy hoolud, or you might hear people just say hoolud) is an important pre wedding tradition at Bengali weddings (it's kind of like a bridal shower that includes the groom). We're so excited to get to share this tradition with you!
You can expect lots of sweets, dancing, vibrant colors, and the opportunity to wish the couple well Bengali-style. See the "What Should I Wear" page for more info on what "Bengali Formal" attire is.
What is beach formal?
Our wedding venue is a really beautiful beach club & restaurant, so prepare for some sand and a gorgeous sea breeze. You can refer to this article when thinking about what to wear - https://www.brides.com/beach-wedding-attire-4842339
Where should I stay in Tamarindo?
See the "Travel" tab for more info on our room block at the Diria. If you ultimately choose to find your own accomodations (which is totally fine!), please make sure it is walkable to the Diria Tamarindo.
What will the weather be like?
We won't lie, it's going to be hot and likely humid. Our wedding is taking place at the start of Costa Rica's rainy season, so expect a couple rain showers here and there.
Will I need a visa or any medical prep before traveling to Costa Rica?
Americans do not need a seperate visa to enter the country, nor do you need any type of travel shots, special medications, etc. You DO need your passport, though.
