We are encouraging guests to wear Bengali formal attire to help celebrate this vibrant occasion. Women can opt for sarees or shalwar kameez in bright, festive colors. Men can wear (similarly bright and festive!) kurtas or panjabis with tailored pants. Please do not wear red, yellow, or orange.
For a bit of flair, feel free to add traditional accessories like bangles or bindis. Don't worry if you don't have something perfectly traditional—bright and fun is the goal! We're excited to see everyone embrace this beautiful part of Jesmine's culture!
NOTE: Costa Rica is hot and humid. Please keep this in mind when choosing your outfits and fabrics. We reccomend to sticking to cotton, linen, or silk.
If you are interested in purchasing clothing for the occasion, the bride reccomends the below retailers:
- Aarong.com. Aarong clothing is ethically handmade and proceeds are invested back into the people of Bangladesh through social development programming. Aarong products are of high quality and shipping is very reliable.
- Lashkaraa (US Based)
- Kalki Fashion (Indian company with large US presence)
If you prefer to shop in person, reach out to the Jesmine or Sabera for some helpful tips!
For our ceremony and reception, we're asking guests to wear beach formal attire. Women can opt for flowy dresses or jumpsuits in light, airy fabrics, paired with dressy sandals or wedges, for example. Men can wear dress shirts with slacks or lightweight suits, and finish the look with loafers or nice sandals. Let us know if you have any questions!
