From my eyes…

Our story is far from ordinary. It all started with a classic boy-meets-girl scenario but with a twist. He was instantly smitten, while I remained blissfully unaware and awkward. Then, fate intervened, our paths crossed, and he bought me a drink. Five minutes into our relationship he flew me to Pittsburgh to meet 500 people. I knew instantly that Jess was unlike anyone I had ever known – passionate about many things, a teacher of all things, and the best person to have in your life. And I could not love him more. Soon, I found myself immersed in a world full of food, movies, Italians, Eminem, and ... anime. We survived long distances, weathered the challenges of COVID, and conquered a 2.5-year engagement. Our relationship is built on trust, understanding, acceptance, and a whole lot of driving. It is true what they say, though, distance makes the heart grow fonder. And now, 221,000 miles later, I know every hour was worth it. Sometimes, the most unexpected journey leads you exactly where you are meant to be. That is the beauty of fate – it simply happens.

The first time I walked past her office, I happened to gaze in and saw her smile. I did not get to appreciate much of what I have come to love about her, but I was immediately captivated. Then for the first time, I witnessed her strut in her heels. The next first time was her laugh. And with each first time, I started to develop … feelings. So many so, that it turned into an unwavering love. The day that I knew, was when she was looking into my eyes after I gave her a charm from my necklace, and I called her my soul mate. I felt in every fiber of my body she was the one for me. She is my world and means everything to me.
