DRIVING:
Binghamton sits at the interchange of I-81, I-88, and I-86/Rt. 17, so it is pretty easy to get to, and, depending where you're coming from, you could have options.
Check out Mary's preferred route up from the city/LI here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RYepQZzuYsEdfgFB9
FLYING:
Binghamton (BGM) does have an airport (BGM) but it is small, meaning it can be expensive, flight times can be inconvenient, and it will require a layover (unless you're coming from Detroit).
If you're not seeing flights that work for you, I highly recommend flying into Syracuse (SYR) or Scranton (AVP) and renting a car. The drive is about an hour and just a straight shot up/down I-81.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
Unfortunately no trains run into Binghamton but we do have a bus station with Coach, Greyhound, and other lines. See more info here: https://gobroomecounty.com/transit/greater-binghamton-transportation-center
