Our Story

We first met in August 2021, when purple salvia bloomed amid a warm summer breeze. With Jesse’s warm and kind energy, he quickly became inseparable from Hayden’s family, especially as her mom’s favorite mahjong partner and a big brother figure that Hayden's brothers admired. Hayden brought more joy and laughter to Jesse’s family, adding her chaotic energy in the best way and making every Christmas and Thanksgiving louder, warmer, and more unforgettable. Despite Hayden’s homebody nature, Jesse’s active spirit kept pulling us into new moments, new places, and new ways of seeing life. We traveled the world and collected memories everywhere. We took road trips with Pluto and Venus from Colorado to Arkansas, turning long drives into some of our favorite days together. And when it was just the two of us, we kept chasing new places and new experiences, from a Bahamas cruise to South Korea, Washington, the Grand Canyon, and Miami, always coming home with even more stories than we started with. But as much as we loved to travel, we also dreamed of a place filled with comfort, warmth, and family. In August 2023, we bought our first home, and little by little, room by room, we added our colors to it, turning a house into our home. On September 13, 2024, we got engaged at the top of Mount Rainier, surrounded by fresh, quiet air and breathtaking views, thanks to our wonderful friend Haesol. Now we are counting down to May 30, 2026, when we will make our vows and celebrate with the people who have shown us tremendous love and support and helped shape us into who we are today. As we look ahead to building a family of our own, it would mean the world to have you with us as we open the door to this next chapter.

저희는 2021년 8월, 무더운 텍사스 여름 바람 속에서 보랏빛 샐비아가 꽃망울을 열때 처음 만났습니다. 제시는 특유의 따뜻하고 다정한 에너지로 가족사이에 자연스럽게 스며들었고, 특히 저희 엄마에게는 가장 좋아하는 마작 동지이자 귀여운 사위가, 저의 남동생들에게는 든든한 친구이자 매형이 되어 주었습니다. 저는 제시의 가족에게 더 많은 웃음과 즐거움을 가져다주려고 했고, 매번 크리스마스와 추수감사절을 더 시끌벅적하고, 더 따뜻하고, 더 잊지 못할 순간으로 만들었습니다. 저는 다소 안정적이고 집을 더 좋아하는 편이지만, 제시의 활기찬 성격이 저희를 계속 새로운 순간으로, 새로운 장소로, 그리고 인생을 바라보는 새로운 방식으로 이끌었습니다. 저희는 곳곳을 여행하며 어디서든 추억을 모았고, 저희집 강아지 플루토 비너스와 함께 콜로라도에서 알칸사까지 로드트립을 하며 긴 운전 시간을 우리에게 가장 소중한 하루들로 바꾸기도 했습니다. 그리고 둘이서 캐러비안 크루즈부터 한국, 미국 서중부 주들까지, 계속 새로운 곳과 새로운 경험을 하며 언제나 처음 떠날 때보다 더 많은 이야기와 추억을 안고 돌아왔습니다. 하지만 여행을 사랑했던 만큼, 저희는 편안함과 따뜻함, 그리고 가족의 온기로 가득한 공간도 함께 꿈꿨습니다. 2023년 8월, 저희는 첫 집을 샀고, 조금씩, 방 하나씩 우리만의 색을 더해가며 단순한 집을 ‘저희의 집’으로 만들어 왔습니다. 그리고 2024년 9월 13일, 저희의 멋진 친구 해솔이 덕분에 Mount Rainier 정상에서 신선하고 고요한 공기와 숨 막히는 풍경에 둘러싸인 채 약혼했습니다. 이제 저희는 2026년 5월 30일을 손꼽아 기다리고 있습니다. 그날 저희는 서로에게 평생을 서약하고, 그 동안 저희에게 항상 큰 사랑과 지지를 보내주시며 오늘날의 저희를 만들어 준 소중한 사람들과 함께 기쁨을 나누려 합니다. 앞으로 저희 가족을 만들어갈 다음 챕터의 문을 여는 이 순간에, 여러분이 함께해 주신다면 더할나위 없이 소중할것 같아요.

Our Engagement Moments

Washington was planned as a simple trip for just the two of us. What looked like an ordinary getaway, however, was also the final chapter of a surprise that had been quietly prepared for a full year. Behind the scenes, Jesse had been planning a surprise proposal with Hayden’s best friend, Haesol. She had never visited the United States before, so bringing her from South Korea meant the world to Hayden.On our way back to the car for what Hayden thought was a rental issue, Haesol suddenly appeared, surprising Hayden in the most unforgettable way. Soon after, we headed out to hike with Mount Rainier in view. Surrounded by the mountains and with Haesol beside us, Jesse proposed. What began as a simple Washington trip became one of the most meaningful days of our lives. And of course, we said yes to forever. 💍
