This is Jesse and Emily's favorite spots in Chicago! Ranging from where Jesse proposed to the places we go back to for the best food and coffee. Hope you enjoy our spots as much as we do!
This is THE SPOT. It was the place where Jesse first told Emily he loved her. It is also the place where, on October 14th, 2023 - a rainy day in the windy city - Jesse proposed to Emily. We invite you to venture out to one of our most favourite and special places in the city with stellar views of the Lake and the skyline.
This was one of Jess and Em's first dates! This is a fantastic aquarium with a cool dolphin exhibit overlooking Lake Michigan.
This is a must do in Chicago! It is a beautiful walk down the river where you will see different coffee shops and restaurants. The architecture down the river ranges from modern to original buildings. There is opportunities to take a boat through the river as well as kayak. Jesse and Emily love just walking down it.
Iconic to Chicago the cloud gate (aka the bean) is Emily's all time favorite spot. Legend has it that it is actually a space ship, when you walk under the bean you will be able to see the center where it will one day open and aliens will be dispersed. Don't believe us? Go check it out!
This restaurant is amazing! Everything about it is 5 stars! The food, atmosphere, and service is wonderful! Jesse and Emily have gone back here countless times. If you are going to do the riverwalk you might as well stop here as it looks beautifully over the river! We usually order the romaine caesar salad with the fresca pizza! You are sure to enjoy this!
If you go to Pizzeria Portofino you may as well hit this spot because its right over the bridge! A coffee shop that is right on the river! This coffee shop is perfect for those sunny days that you want to be outside drinking coffee watching the boats pass by!
This is a great spot for you if you have kids, or if you just love seeing animals. This zoo is free to visit (just need to pay for parking), and it has great animals too. It houses animals like penguins (one of Jess' favs), gorillas, giraffes, lions, and more!
This place is unique because it's where Emily got her first job in Chicago, serving the famous Chicago deep-dish pizza. In Em's eyes this is the best deep-dish the city has to offer (especially the 4-cheese pesto, or the BBQ chicken). *Warning, these pizza's take 45 minutes to bake
*Another warning, these pizza's are huuuuuuuge, take the servers advice on what size you should get for the group you are with.
The world's biggest Starbucks! This multi-layer coffee shop will have you venturing to the top of the rooftop while smelling the delicious coffee and pastries all the way up!
Navy Pier is near Oak Street beach where we got engaged, this pier has all sorts of different restaurants and activities going on all the time. If you are brave enough try the massive ferris wheel in the middle of the pier!
Get your classic Chicago hot dog at Portillo's! Not only will you love the Chicago dog you'll also love all the historic articles they have around the restaurant! (P.S. to not look like a tourist, do not put ketchup on your hotdog!)
Italian roasted coffee while walking on the streets of Chicago. Is there really anything much better?
FYI: There is not a lot of seating here it is best to take this coffee and pastry to go
One of Jesse and Emily's favourite breakfast spots, from the beautiful decorations to the delicious crepes this is the spot for that "Chicago aesthetic."
One of Chicago's oldest breakfast spots situated right on Route 66
WARNING: you WILL leave extremely stuffed
Beautiful coffee spot that has all the aesthetics. About a 5 minute walk from the Moody Bible Institute!
