Transportation Schedule to Wedding

For those needing a ride to the wedding there will be a bus (Kerry Coaches) to Ballyseede Castle at 1pm at East Avenue Road across from the Cinema. There will also be a bus that will bring those not staying in the castle back to Killarney at 1am.

Attire

Our wedding will be formal attire...fascinators are encouraged!

Getting There (For the Americans)

There are two international airports that you can fly into. Shannon International Airport and Dublin International Airport.

Should I Travel around Ireland

Yes! There is so much to see and do in this beautiful country. Check out our Things to Do tab for more information. You WILL need a car if you plan to travel around Ireland.

Do I need to rent a car

It depends! For the most flexibility and convenience, we highly recommend renting a car to explore Ireland. Shannon Airport is a 1.5- 2 hour drive from Killarney. If you choose not to rent a car, you can take a bus or cab. Killarney is a charming, walkable town with an abundance of cab services should you require one. From Dublin Airport, the journey to Killarney takes approximately 3.5 hours. If you prefer not to drive, we suggest taking the train directly to Killarney or considering a brief local flight to Kerry. If you fly into Kerry Airport, you can rent a car or take a cab to Killarney, 15 minutes away.

Cabs

Cabs are popular and plentiful in Killarney all year round. There is a dedicated cab rank in the town center at College Square. You can also phone for a cab from Killarney Cabs (tel. +353 64/663-7444), Dave's Taxis (tel. +353 87/679-8899), or Euro Taxis (tel. +353 64/663-7676).

What is the Day 2 Party (for Americans)

In the Irish wedding tradition, we extend the celebration into Day 2 with a lively gathering. This isn't your typical American post-wedding brunch. Day 2 celebration starts later in the day, around 6 pm. We have reserved space at a bar and will have live music, including traditional Irish music and food! It's bound to be an absolute blast, and we'd love for you to join us!

What are the Welcome Drinks (For for the Irish)

It is typical for an American wedding to have a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding with immediate family. Following dinner, we'll be heading to a local bar, where everyone is welcomed for a few hours of relaxed socializing. We'd be delighted if you could join us for some drinks and good company!

Transportation to/from wedding

We will arrange transportation to Ballyseede on the wedding day from Killarney from the hotels listed in accommodations and from College Square should you choose to stay in an accommodation other than those listed. We will let you know what time to expect the shuttle at each hotel once it is confirmed. Your hotel should also be able to arrange a taxi for you if that is what you prefer. We will have two separate times/shuttles to bring you back to your hotels after the wedding, which again will be confirmed closer to the wedding date. If you prefer to stay later than the shuttle times or are not staying at one of the designated hotels, Ballyseede can help arrange cabs. Hotels with arranged transportation:
