Our Story

Where the dating algorithm did its job perfectly; the rest fell into place seamlessly. Scott and Jess first met at Improper City in RiNo over drinks and food truck tacos on a cold winter night in December 2022. Why wait the traditional first week for a second date, when you are eager to see each other again? A Sushi date followed by a Denver Broncos game all within a week, it was the beginning to the end of the dating world all together. Many more dates followed as their love blossomed as they shared similar hobbies together, skiing the slopes, hiking beautiful mountain trails with their dogs, trivia nights with friends, cooking together, and traveling as much as possible.

Shortly into dating, Scott wanted some extra attention and dedication from Jess, and he wound up in a ski accident in late January 2023, which took him out of commission/flying for a couple months to recover. During this time, as Jess nurtured Scott back to life, the relationship continued to grow. Even though it had been a couple of months, it felt like they’d known each other for decades. From then forward, they were invincible; sharing all the best moments life brought.

Their relationship, in a nutshell, is a whirlwind of love, travel adventures, and shared passions—like a wolf pack, they have chosen each other for life. Scott is the adventurous, yet steady grounding force in the couple, committed to navigating the responsibilities of adulting while wholeheartedly loving Jess just as she is and will always being the heart and energy that fuels her. Jess is the social butterfly that lights up the room with her smile and laughter, loves gathering with friends, celebrating special moments with her sweet treats, making a home warm and cozy, and loving Scott endlessly as her ultimate partner in crime.

As 2025 began, one thing on Jess and Scott’s bucket list was to see the northern lights in Iceland; it is supposed to be one of the best years in decades to see this natural beauty. Timing worked out perfectly, where Scott had Jess’ birthday weekend off and we started to pack our bags for a long weekend in Reykjavik. The trip started off well with free first class flight upgrades, but upon landing, we were greeted with a big winter snow storm that lasted several days and involved driving through blizzard like heavy snow conditions. As the couple was trying to plan the agenda for the day on January 24, Scott was secretly trying to figure out a waterfall backdrop to drop the Big question! As the roadtrip progressed across the Golden Circle, crowded sites, minimal day light and snow creeped in, this didn't get in Scott’s way, even though the ring was burning a hole in his jacket pocket as he carried it everywhere waiting for the right moment.

January 25 arrived, a new day, a new adventure, a new opportunity. Unfortunately, Jess woke up not feeling great (aka 30s hangover), so the day started out slow with exploring the winter wonderland city of Reykjavik, but Scott insisted in getting out of the city and making it to Hvammsvik Hot Springs. On the way, Scott mentioned there was a waterfall worth stopping along the way. When we got there Laxa I Kjos (the salmon river), Jess got out to do some quick photos and hop back in the car, but Scott took his time, took out his tripod photo stand and came over to Jess for hugs, sweet talk and catching the moment. Little did Jess know, it was going to turn into Scott getting down on one knee and asking a question that would turn their relationship into a forever.
