Things to Do

Places to see

Picture of Places to see

Fort Williams Park, Cape Elizabeth

Fort Williams was a favorite walking spot for us when we lived in South Portland. Walks with Etta brought us here almost daily. The lighthouse is a must see for anyone who has not been! http://www.fortwilliamspark.com/

Prout's Neck Cliff Walk, Scarborough

Here is another favorite walk and the place where we got engaged! Start your walk at Ferry Beach. This walk is a bit of a hidden gem, if you need better directions let us know.

Willard Beach, South Portland

Chris grew up on Willard Beach and in a bit of a coincidence Jess bought a house about a mile from Willard shortly after meeting Chris. We have enjoyed many happy times at this beach, especially with our dog, Etta. Fisherman's Point is a favorite lookout spot.

Looking to do a "beach day?" Other great beaches include: Scarborough, Ferry, Pine Point and Higgins.

Casco Bay Islands, Portland

We love bopping around Casco Bay in our little brown boat and if time allows you may enjoy taking a cruise out to the islands. For more information or ideas on how to spend a day on the water check out Casco Bay Lines.

Places to eat

There are so many, SO MANY places to eat in Portland! Here are a few of our favorites…

Otto Pizza, Portland

There are several locations now, but we had our very first date at the 225 Congress St. restaurant near Munjoy Hill! Fun fact: Shortly after Chris moved back to South Portland to be with Jess, an Otto Pizza sprung up at the end of their street! This was seen as a very good sign!

The Green Elephant, Portland

We love this place! The Green Elephant is in the Arts District (near the Westin Hotel) and is an "Asian Inspired Vegetarian Bistro."

The Grill Room, Portland

We recently discovered this spot and think they might just have the BEST BURGER around.

Two Lights Lobster Shack, Cape Elizabeth

For the ultimate lobster shack experience (and some say the best lobster roll!) this is the place to go. Two Lights State Park is just down the road and is a great place to take a stroll along Maine's famous rocky coastline. On your way home, stop for ice cream at Kettle Cove Creamery!!

Portland Lobster Company, Portland

Classic "lobster shack" fare, the Lobster Company often has great live music on their deck. *It can get crowded so plan ahead!
