On Wednesday, June 27th, 2018, Jessica and her stepmom Alexa attended the Hamilton County Precinct Chair Caucus Meeting at the Fishers library. Before official business got underway, the Indiana Democratic Party's Coordinated Campaign staffers, who represented Hamilton County, got up to introduce themselves. One of those staffers was a very handsome, very tall, man wearing a Joe Donnelly t-shirt. Alexa whispered over to Jessica that she thought he was cute and that she should go introduce herself to him after the meeting.

As a millennial, instead of talking to him after the meeting ended, Jessica decided to search for him on social media. According to Facebook, his birthday was April 10th, he was from Valparaiso, Indiana, he graduated from IU Bloomington, and he worked out of the Carmel office for the Coordinated Campaign. She was sure she'd run into him eventually, being from Carmel herself and being very involved in politics there.

Less than a month later on July 22nd, Jessica received an email from the Chair of the Hamilton County Democrats stating that the Coordinated Campaign was hiring a Field Organizer to work out of the Carmel office, where she knew that cute guy worked. Jessica applied, and got the job a few days later on August 1st. Jessica's first day at her new job was August 18th. She walked into the Carmel office for her first day of work and, to her surprise, that cute guy from the meeting in Fishers back in June was standing there, talking to her brother Ian and her stepmom Alexa!

They fell in love immediately. Jessica and Alex spent the next three months together working 12+ hours a day to get Senator Joe Donnelly re-elected to the US Senate. After spending so much time together and still feeling the same way they felt on the first day they met, they knew they were meant to be.

Jessica and Alex spent the next three years having fun with each other through traveling, having Marvel and Harry Potter movie marathons, adopting a quarantine kitten named Luna in March 2020, and running Fady Qaddoura's successful campaign for State Senate District 30 in the fall of 2020. They can't imagine life without each other.

That's why, on June 17th 2021, Jessica couldn't say no when Alex dropped to one knee and proposed to her. Alex clearly knew the way to Jessica's heart, because the engagement ring was in a golden snitch from Harry Potter. They are excited to celebrate their love with you on October 8, 2022!
