Jess is originally from Steubenville, Ohio and Mike is originally from Wildwood, NJ. Jess had been in Colorado for 4 years and Mike had been in Colorado for 2 years when they met in a snowboarding/skiing group in the beginning of 2018. Jess left her ski boots in her car overnight, and she couldn’t get them on because they were too cold. Mike was kind to enough to take her boots into the ski shop at Keystone Resort and put them on boot warmers so that she could get them on. They quickly became friends and mountain buddies.

Six months later, Mike of course took her to the gun range. The guy shooting next to them asked Mike if Jess was his lady. Mike smiled and said, “I wouldn’t mind that.”

Mike decided to take her zip lining and to Mount Princeton hot springs before she would be laid up for her hip replacement surgery in July. Mike met several family members during her recovery and answered all of their questions with ease. They bonded over walks around the neighborhood. Mike and Jess bring balance to each other and are each others home.
