Q + A

Is there accommodation at the venue / near by?

There are 19 rooms in the castle for our guests to stay on the night of the wedding, along with 9 boathouse rooms. If you stay at the venue, you will be invited to join us for complimentary breakfast the following day. If you would like to spend the night at Castle on the night of the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible as we will need to book this on your behalf. If you would like to stay nearby, there are plenty of options around (including airbnb's, bed and breakfasts and hotels).

Dress Code

We would LOVE to see all our friends and family get dressed up for our big day! Dress to impress in your best formal cocktail attire. Bright summertime colours are encouraged. Please no jeans/ denim and avoid shades of white.

Gifts

Your presence is present enough! No gift is required. If you are inclined to bring something, we would love a card with a lovely message from you to commemorate the occasion.

Where is the ceremony and reception taking place?

Both ceremony and reception will take place at Bellingham Castle.

What is the timeline for the day?

Please arrive by 2:30pm as the ceremony will be beginning at 3:00pm sharp. Please allow time to park and find your seat. There will be tea, coffee, cake and snacks for you while you wait. Check in for the castle bedrooms will be ready at around 3:00pm. Please arrive wedding ready and you will have a chance to check in to your rooms while Josh and I popout with our photographer for around 30 minutes after the ceremony. If you are late, we will respectfully request that you wait until after the ceremony to enter the venue so that our ceremony is not disrupted. Once the ceremony is concluded, our drinks and canapes reception will begin (as well as our photography) and the O'Bryen bar will open. Calling time for our meals is 5:30pm, with starters being served at 6:05pm. Speeches will begin at roughly 8:00pm, followed by our entertainment. Evening food will be served between 11:30pm and midnight. The Bute Bar will close at 1:30am and the party will be moved to the O Bryen Late Bar between 2:00am and 4:00am.

How do I get to the venue?

FROM DUBLIN: Take the M1 north. Exit at Junction 15 (Castlebellingham/Tallanstown) and follow the signs for Castlebellingham along Station Road. Continue into the village and turn right onto Main Street (R132). The entrance to Bellingham Castle is further along Main Street on the right beside a large stone entrance tower.

Are kids welcome?

Weddings are the joining of two families and children are a part of our families! Your children are absolutely welcome. If we have mistakenly not included your children in your RSVP, please let us know so we can make sure they are catered for. The kids are welcome to party with us until 12am (if they can stay up that late!). We plan to have a babysitter in one of the rooms close to the reception so the kiddies can get to bed/ watch a movie while the parents keep partying. We will post more information about this once it is arranged.

Can I bring a plus one?

We can only accommodate guests that have been formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you have received a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

Do you have any recommendations for local restaurants, points of interest, or things to do?

We are in the process of asking our beautiful Irish family for their recommendations - check back in shortly!

Who do I contact with other questions?

Either of us! You know how to contact Josh or Jess and we are happy to answer any questions in the lead up to the event. If you have questions on the day of the wedding, please contact Jade Kirkham (Maid of Honour) or Scott Larkin (Best Man).

What do I do if I can't make it?

You will be dearly missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "not attending" so that we can plan accordingly. Thank you!

Is there an open bar?

Yes! The drinks are on us, and the hangover is on you - get ready to party!! For this reason, we encourage you not to drive if you are not staying at the venue. Please make sure you have a way to get home safely.
