We met in Memphis, Tennessee, in November 2022, while bonding over live blues and Southern food, and have spoken every day since. After endless long-distance phone calls, Zoom dates, and people calling us crazy (understandably), we decided to meet up again. On her way to meet me in Croatia, Jess competed in a week-long sailing race from Marblehead, Massachusetts to Bermuda which was followed by three cancelled flights, a lost bag, and wondering if she'd ever get to me. Bloody, muddy, and battered, Jess finally arrived in Croatia for the best week of our lives, getting to truly know each other after having only met once, seven months before.

Jess and Burt (her wild cat from Ethiopia) moved to England in October 2023, and although we've had to be separated numerous times and shed a lot of tears due to visa reasons, it makes our big day all the more special. Along with our three boys - Seth, Flynn, and Nate - we love to have adventures and have learned never to take our time together for granted.
