The Night We Met

-Jessicas Story-

I had just finished my shift at the bar I worked at, and despite her many protests, convinced my friend Noelle to grab a drink at a bar with me. So, her in her yoga clothes, and me in my work uniform, went out to Khartoums in Campbell. This night was different. I had a nagging feeling that I had somewhere to be, someone to meet. We grabbed a beer and a shot and I immediately decided I needed to go outside. Noelle said, "Dude, we just sat down. Lets finish our beers first." I responded, "It'll be quick, I just really want to step outside for a bit." After having convinced Noelle yet again, to do what I wanted, we put our (full) beers down and headed towards the door. Kit was the first thing I saw when we walked outside. He was talking to some tall guy who I thought might be Jason Biggs. I felt drawn to him, and walked right up and said hello. He said hello back, and flirtatious banter ensured. He made me guess his name, I guessed "Gary." We only talked for about 10 min when his Taxi (yes, a taxi) came. He asked me for my number and the rest is history. Noelle and I walked back inside to finish our beers and continue the night. I looked at her and said "I'm good. I feel like we can leave after this." I think she wanted to kill me. Ive never really been a believer in soulmates, or "the one," but I honestly feel like the universe wanted me to be at that bar, at that time, to bring Kit and I together. We had such a small window to meet that night, and if it weren't for that nagging feeling, and my annoying persistence (sorry Noelle) I might not be writing this now, and I'm incredibly glad I am :)

-Kits Story-

The serendipity didn't end with our first meeting. We actually met 2 days after I had left a solar startup in Menlo Park, so I had plenty of free time for falling in love that summer, and we made great use of it. We were almost always together, and got to know each other so well in such a short time because of it. I'm very thankful for that, and also for our patience as we worked to line up our dream lives. We've loved our path so far, and we have even greater things on the path ahead together.
