Our Wedding

John and I met the way all great love stories begin… at a dog park.It was 2019, right before the world shut down, and I was doing my usual daily trail walk with Remy at Shawnee Mission Dog Park. One day we ran into John and his tiny (but already opinionated) German Shepherd puppy, Klaus.Our dogs instantly became friends — which meant we kept “accidentally” running into each other. Before long, we exchanged numbers to schedule official dog play dates… you know, for the dogs.

Our Adventure to Love

We’d spend hours exploring trails, walking down to the lake, and one day we even helped “rescue” a dog that slipped off a small bluff. Helping rescue a dog together felt like a scene from Homeward Bound… and I think that’s when I knew he was special.Then COVID hit and life paused for a bit. But like all good love stories, ours picked back up right where it left off.

When we reconnected, our time together was never just "a date" — they were adventures! Rock wall climbing, go-karts, hiking trails, and always ending with something delicious to eat. Being with John has always meant doing life out loud.Soon after, John started his own business, which meant a lot of time on the road. But no matter where work took him, he always made time for us. He’d come home to visit — or invite me along for fun “mini weekend vacations.”Because of him, love has taken me to Iowa (spooky cave adventures!), Northern Illinois, Texas (including a Thanksgiving together), Arkansas, and even Florida — where we saw manatees for my birthday.Even when life was busy and moving fast, our one constant was adventure. And each other.

After a season of travel, we spent 2024 and 2025 building our life together in Kansas. Somewhere between dog park trails, road trips, caves, ATVs, and manatees… we realized we weren’t just building memories.We were building a home.So we bought one. And now we’re getting married!Turns out, the best thing Remy ever brought home from the dog park… was John. 🤍

Our Story

We'll be dressed up, but we want you to feel comfortable and confident, especially in dancing the night away with us! *Attire in deep, moody autumn tones will beautifully complement our setting- deep green, burgundy, rust, purple, black *Heels are welcome, but flats or wedges may be more comfortable on the grass for the ceremony. *Kansas Weather can be unpredictable- Bring a light layer just in case
