During the wonderful time known as covid both Josh & Jessica decided to give the dating app Hinge a try. On the question "What is a controversial opinion you have?" Jessica had answered - Room temperature water is better! This answer did not agree with Josh who answered that it is in fact not the best, water should be cold. This silly conversation led to many others and with the ban being lifted on outdoor dining the two decided it was time to meet.

The first date was a hit and lots of wine was had! The two found they had many common interests and mutual family friends. After their first date the restrictions of covid were put back in place, dating was challenging. However, Josh & Jess found ways to still see each including picnics in Josh's truck bed while watching the sunset in the different forest preserves in the area.

Overtime covid had ended and things were going very well. Josh bought his first house and eventually Jessica and her dog, Tucker, moved in. The two started travelling together and spending lots of time with family and friends. They also welcomed their 2nd dog, Kaia, to the family.

On the Gate's Family vacation they travelled to Costa Rica. It was the 3rd day into the trip and they headed to Nauyaca Waterfalls. To reach the waterfall it was a 40minute hike through the rainforest with very warm temperatures. Once arriving Jessica was adamant on jumping into the water right away. Josh did his best to try and persuade her to wait to make sure family could join them. Jessica being stubborn and very hot after the hike was frustrated but finally agreed to get a picture before she jumped in the water. Coming as a huge surprise Josh got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!

She of course said yes! The crowd applauded and after many pictures they did get to go swimming. Josh planned to perfect proposal, in the most beautiful spot and accomplished surprising Jessica. The rest of the vacation was spent celebrating this joyous occasion.

After over a year of being and engaged any planning the wedding. We are over joyed to say "I DO!" and celebrate with the friends and family who we both love so much!!!
