During their college years at Mizzou, Jessy and Kyle were acquaintances who shared the same social scene, but their connection was mostly limited to attending parties together, with the noteworthy moment of Kyle assisting Jessy in a keg stand. Following college, Kyle and Jessy both stayed in touch with Brice who moved to Chicago shortly after Mizzou in 2016. Brice would often invite Kyle to come to visit Chicago while Jessy would tag along, sometimes invited sometimes not. Kyle and Jessy unknowingly laid a foundation for a relationship as their friendship gradually grew.

Kyle and Jessy started dating in 2018 and did long distance for 10 months. Their FaceTime dates consisted of many bottles of red wine and conversations about the future. Kyle made the move to Chicago in 2019 and they had a much closer distance relationship with studio apartments a 10 minute walk away from each other. They experienced (and survived) quarantine and the pandemic all while falling more in love with each other. They moved in together in the fall of 2020 and shortly after that they added a roommate, their weiner dog Howie.

The three of them decided to start travel nursing, taking them across the country to Washington and California. While in California, Kyle took Howie to show him where he was going to propose to Jessy. Kyle proposed in April of 2023 and made all of Jessy’s dreams come true.

Kyle and Jessy frequently spoke of their future using the word “someday” with eager anticipation. Now, they are thrilled to embark on their shared “someday” journey together.
