Our Wedding

[Jhaid’s POV] As many of you know, Justin and I have been together since we were 18. What most of you may not know is that we met in Physics class, junior year of high school. I was a new student at Mt. Pleasant High School. We did not become friends instantly, but we were in the same clubs and we had the same circle of friends. I always had a secret crush on him. We became friends in high school, but we grew closer the summer before starting college at San José State University. We both got accepted at SJSU as undeclared because our selected majors were impacted. We took the same classes Fall 2014, except for English. We spent a lot of time together, and Justin eventually fell in love with my charms. In February 2015, I asked Justin to be my Valentine, marking the beginning of a new chapter in our relationship. We celebrate our anniversary on February 15, the day we first saw each other as more than friends. Our relationship became official on June 15, 2015, when Justin returned from a trip to the Philippines. He surprised me by standing outside of the house with a bouquet of roses in hand and a heartfelt letter. In that letter, he wrote about us and asked me to be his girlfriend. Since then, we have had countless adventures, adopted Goose, visited 10 countries, and spent a third of our lives together. We initially wanted to tie the knot on our 100th month together as a couple because June 15 will always hold a special place in our hearts. Alas—after 10 years together, we are finally tying the knot on June 30, 2025 ♥

At long last...

[Justin’s POV] I had absolutely no clue that Jhaid saw me in slow motion as she walked into Physics class for the first time. Being oblivious, I was running around high school not knowing that my future wife had shown up in our junior year. The universe knew it just wasn’t our time yet. We grew closer in the Summer and Fall of 2014. Same friends, same college acceptance, same classes. Now, the time was right. We grew closer each and every day. Is this it? Am I falling for her? She asks ME to be her Valentine. The next day, I realize that I’ve really fallen for her and confess. June 15th comes, and I thought that we needed to make this official so I finally asked her to be my girlfriend. Some don’t say “I love you” so early in a relationship. It could scare them away or ruin the relationship. Well I folded like an omelette in 5 months and told her I love her. I couldn’t hold it in anymore. And she loved me back. For 10 more years, we’ve spent our lives together in such a developmental period. We were discovering who we are, what we wanted to do, where we wanted to be. I just wanted to be happy, and she is the center of that goal. With every vacation, dinner, movie, walk with Goose, and waking day with her, my happiness grows. Making her happy makes me happier, so why not do this forever? May 25, 2023. I ask her if we could do this forever, and now we await to celebrate with you on our wedding day on June 30, 2025.

Since Goose joined our family in November 2020, our lives have been filled with more joy, laughter, and tail wags than we ever imagined. He’s truly the bestest boy ever and we’re so grateful for every moment with him!

DJ is not only the bride’s dearest GBF but also her brother from another mother. Their bond is truly unique, and some of Jhaid’s best laughs have been shared with him. DJ claims that since he met Justin first, he knows him best. As a dedicated science educator and a PhD candidate, he’s known for his passion for learning and his unwavering support. His presence in our lives is a true gift, and we’re thrilled to have him as the man of honor on our special day.

Jonnah and Jhaid met at St. Paul University in 2008, back in their school days in the Philippines. Jonnah was like a local celebrity with her passion for dance, scuba diving, modeling, and so much more! Even across thousands of miles, she has been a constant source of joy and support. As a dedicated nurse and a new mother, she continues to inspire with her strength and kindness. We are beyond excited to have Jonnah by our side on our wedding day.

Gabi is the bride’s beloved little sister from another mother.  She has welcomed Jhaid into her life with open arms since 2014. Having shared a room for over a year, they have formed a sisterly bond that’s truly special. They often tease DJ in a way only sisters can. A talented writer and published author, Gabi brings creativity and depth to everything she does.

Amy is one of the bride’s dearest friends, they first met in high school. They became close later on and since then has shared many memorable trips, played countless board games, and navigated life’s ups and downs together. Amy is skilled at many things and exceptionally talented at crocheting. Recently graduated as a Physician Assistant, Amy’s dedication, intelligence, and grace shines through in everything she does.

Stacy is one of Jhaid’s best friends from high school, back in their ASB days. She is one of the very few to learn about how Jhaid and Justin started their relationship. Although they don’t see each other often, their connection picks up right where it left off, as if no time has passed. A true ray of sunshine and a natural in the business world, Stacy lights up every room she enters. Her unwavering support for our relationship from the very beginning means the world to us.

Abby and Jhaid have known each other since high school, but their friendship truly blossomed in recent years as they bonded over their shared love for dogs, golf, and working out. They often share funny memes with each other, go on low-key hangouts, and find themselves just talking for hours. With aspirations to become a Physician Assistant, Abby’s commitment and dedication are truly admirable.

Abegail

Back in middle school, Adrian was one of three to ask Justin if he played video games. The rest is history here. Their lives changed for the better, and they watched each other change and grow into the people they have become now. The memories always flood in for Justin every time they meet up. Nostalgia is good, but knowing all of that has put them where they are now makes Adrian the best man to be by Justin’s side.

Back in middle school, Kevin was also one of three to ask Justin if he played video games. Next thing you know, Kevin, Chris, Adrian, and Justin are at Kevin’s grandparents house after school every day playing games. Those were the good days and we didn’t know we had it so good until it was time to grow up and move on. The growth between them was always consistent, and they knew change was a positive sign that they are getting older. Justin couldn’t be happier to have Kevin alongside him during this special day.

In middle school, Chris is one out of three to also ask if Justin played video games. Fast forward a few years later, and they’re getting cooked in Physics class. When Jhaid saw how absolutely stunning Justin looked in physics class, she had no clue him and Chris were fighting for their lives trying to pass. Now, their new physics project is getting Chris to swing a golf club correctly. (They still might be fighting for their lives trying to get that down.)

Mando has been a homie since high school, and while they may have grown separately the past few years, Justin is so proud to see the person Mando has become. With every experience they’ve shared, Justin realizes that time is no enemy to their friendship. Mando also witnessed Jhaid and Justin fall for each other since the three of them hung out a lot in college. And now, he will be by Justin’s side witnessing him and Jhaid get married.

Armando

Vicky has been one of Justin’s best friends since she became his coworker in 2021. Every one of life’s struggles has been quite an experience for them together. She even helped Justin plan how to hide the engagement ring for his proposal, and the stress level was through the roof. Now, being in better places in their lives, they celebrate together on Justin and Jhaid’s special day.

Justin didn’t think anyone else loved Tiger Woods more than him, then Kurt walked in and said “Hi, I’m basically Tiger Woods.” His swing speed clocks in at 120mph and hits everything farther and closer than Justin. Yet…why does Justin still win? This is a mystery but their friendship supercedes this rivalry with the highest honor. They might still be talking about golf at the wedding.

Louie is the bride’s first nephew, and he’s truly the coolest kid she’s ever met—smart, creative, athletic, and incredibly funny. As a remarkable and kind big brother, Louie brings a special spark to every moment.

Aria, the bride’s niece, is as cute as she is mischievous. At just 2 years old, Aria is already known for her sense of humor and cleverness, charming everyone around her with her personality. She keeps the family on their toes with her headstrong spirit and infectious energy.
