How we met

Jillian’s version of the story

We found each other on a dating app and yes they do work sometimes! Before Thanksgiving 2021 I was swiping away, mostly left (I’m super picky), and then I saw Tim. He looked tall, handsome, killer smile, lived 15 minutes down the road, had dogs, so I swiped right! I had to initiate the conversation since it was Bumble and the ladies have to initiate the conversation or the match will disappear after 24 hours. I reached out to Tim and used my go to conversation starter “ Hey Tim how was your weekend? Do anything fun?” He responded, we instantly had great digital conversations that lead to phone conversations which led to our first date on November 28, 2021 at a restaurant in Smithfield, RI named Blackies. But the night before our first date, Tim tells me he’s sick. I’m thinking “he’s totally trying to get out of this date” and I tell him “ok well just let me know how you feel tomorrow and if we need to reschedule.” The next day, Tim texted me and said he’s feeling better and can still make it. So we had our first date watching a Patriots game and the rest is history! Since Tim said he was a big Patriots and Red Sox fan, he scored big bonus points!

Anyway, we fell for each other pretty hard after several dates and I knew he was the one when he told me loved me and would go on vacation with me after only 3 months of dating.

Tim's version of the story

I was staying the night at a hotel since it was closer to work and a morning snowstorm was coming. Naturally, I was bored, so I started swiping through my Bumble dating app. Left, left, left, left, left, oh wait...this girl has a Doodle and she's cute?! Interesting! Swipe right. An undetermined amount of time passes and I got a match along with a thoughtful pickup line, Hi Tim how was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? Okay...I'm sure this girl has run out of witty one-liners to all these guys that never worked out in the first place. Why not; I'll respond. Come to find out, the doodle belonged to her parents. She was using her sister to pick up guys! It worked. We met up a week later at a local restaurant to watch the Pats game. 4 months later, we went to Florida for a week. 4 months after that, I moved in with her and became an insta-cat dad. It is so easy and effortless with Jillian. Everything works. It was an easy decision to ask her to marry me. Our history will continue to be written.
