Where to begin? I'm sure most of you know our story so we won't bore you. Here is the 'Coles Notes' version! We met in high school and had an immediate attraction to one another. We were very close friends throughout high school, then in the summer of 2009 the stars aligned and we finally got together! Since then, we've grown together as a couple, lived in different cities (Jillian in Edmonton, Justin in Saskatoon) and got engaged in the summer of 2016 after being together for 7 years! We feel so lucky to be surrounded by amazing family and friends and can't wait to celebrate all together in May!

Justin's proposal was out of a fairytale. I still think about it daily because it was the most magical day! I returned home on July 7 to Saskatoon from working in Edmonton for a few days. To my surprise when I got home, Justin wasn't there. I found a letter in the kitchen from Justin explaining that he was going to take me on a 'trip down memory lane.' He created a list of rules for this 'trip' including no speaking to any family or friends until I see him, no calling him for help, packing an overnight bag, and to move fast because this adventure was time sensitive. After reading the letter, I was able to open my first envelope. The first envelope asked me to meet him at the place that he first told me he wanted to kiss me. I quickly packed an overnight bag and left for the Train Bridge! At the top of the stairs of the Train Bridge, there I found some flowers and my next envelope. Envelope #2 asked me to come meet him where he first told me he loved me. Off I went to Justin's parents' house. There I was greeted by Justin's mom, Jacquie, who seemed surprised to see me (she's a good actress!). In Justin's old room downstairs I found envelope #3 and flowers. This card asked me to come meet him where we made countless memories on a 'special road' and he'll be waiting for me in the 'porch'. I headed off to my parents old house and my childhood home of 20 years on Redberry Road. As I walked up the driveway, the new owner came out and said "You must be Jillian!". This is when the waterworks started. The owner was super friendly and showed me around my old house. At the end, he handed me my next envelope and flowers. Envelope #4 explained that the next part may seem a bit "LOONy" but to come meet him at the home of the $5 bill (long story- I knew I had to head to Loon Lake, SK). So, I started my 3-hour drive to Loon Lake! It seemed like the longest three hours of my life because I wasn't suppose to talk to family or friends! Three hours later, I arrived at my Grandpa's house in Loon Lake. There, my Grandpa Harry was waiting with my next envelope and flowers. The next card asked me to come meet him where he first told me he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I headed down to the local restaurant/hotel called The Lakehouse. My cousin, Jessica Bauer, was waiting with the final envelope and flowers. The final card read, "I love you more than anything in this world, I could just shout it out, but where I'm waiting a whisper will echo just as loud." I made my final drive down the road to Exner Lake, famous for it's echo. When I arrived, the sun was just setting and there I found my final bouquet of flowers at the beginning of the path to the lake. I walked down the path and finally saw him standing at the end of the dock. The dock was lit up with candles and lights. There, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! Needless to say, I was quite emotional! To date, this was the best day of my life! (See the Photos tab for pictures of my trip down memory lane!)

Danaye is  my older sister and mother to my precious little niece, Violet! She has taught me many things growing up including how to drink like a Maier, how to bulldoze my way to the front of a mosh pit at a Tragically Hip concert,  and how to get into my hand-me-down Ford Escort with a butter knife. Joking aside, she is so talented and funny. As the oldest sibling, she always taught us that family is #1.Fun fact: She can chug a pint in 4 seconds. She invites any challengers!

Danaye Maier

Jesse is my older brother. Being the only two Mehler boys, with three older sisters, we've had a strong bond growing up. He holds the Saskatoon Minor Hockey League record for most penalty minutes because anytime I got hit/hooked/slashed, he would be chasing guys across the ice. He may be my best man, but not the better man!

Hayley is my sister-in-law and one of my best friends! She is one of the most generous, funny and caring people I know and would do anything for a friend.  I was lucky enough to stand by her side as she married my brother in September 2015 and now she will stand by my side on my special day!If you're looking for Hayley on our wedding day, just follow her infectious cackle of a laugh!

Jereme and I met in high school and became close friends in our senior year. He is by far the nicest, most genuine human I've ever met and anyone who knows him would attest to that. He once was my boss. When I demanded a raise, he fired me.Jereme, you are my soulmate. Gee whiz, I love you.

Jereme Schroh

Anna and I became friends in high school and have been sidekicks every since! She is extremely talented and my go-to for everything involving creativity or design.  Justin and I are very close with both Anna and her fiance Jereme and we are honoured to stand by their side when they wed this coming September!Anna and I take pride in our  duo Halloween costumes. Anna Kowaluk

I first met Ryan at a pit-party in high school. He did a flip over the bon-fire and broke his wrist. I thought he was the coolest guy in town. He's arguably the funniest guy I know and after a simple conversation with him, I walk away smarter.Although he is the front-man for an amazing band, he always has my back!

Ryan Maier

Matt is the only other guy who knows what it's like to date a daughter of Les and Sharon. We can talk sports and Christopher Guest movies for hours, sometimes days. He's generous, helpful, and always making the people around him laugh.Matt's alter-ego, Billy J, comes out after a couple drinks. I'm sure Billy will make an appearance at the dance.

Erin and I have been friends since we were 5 years old and have been pretty much inseparable ever since! Erin is incredibly caring and always the life of the party. She lights up a room when she walks in! I'm honoured to have her stand by me in May. I think it is safe to say that Erin knows everything about me. I've always looked up to her, figuratively and literally :)

Mark and I first met while playing hockey as kids. Throughout elementary and high school our friendship only grew stronger. Jill best describes him as a sweetheart, and she's right. He's an amazing teacher and role model for his students as he's always volunteering his time throughout the community. Hey Mark, the wedding is at 2pm. Don't be late, eh.

Mark Balkwill

Kayla and I have been friends since high school but have become closer and closer as the years go on.  Kayla is incredibly generous and has such a big heart! She is always making the people around her laugh even if it is at her own expense. I'm so excited to have her be a part of our special day!Kayla is the best person to party with. She sure knows how to get wild! Just give her some fireball and she's bound to do the splits on the dance floor.

We have a block of rooms set aside under Mehler Maier wedding for the weekend at Days Inn Edmonton South. It is $119 + tax per night with complimentary breakfast! It is super close to our reception venue and an easy drive to the big box stores in the south! If you have any issues booking, let us know!
