🌴About the island: Cozumel is a true paradise with year-round average temperatures in the 80’s and surrounded by national forest and crystal-clear blue waters.

🚗 Exploring the Island: Adventure awaits! While car rentals and mopeds are an option, you’ll find that Cozumel is easily accessible by foot or taxi, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable exploration of all the island has to offer.

🚕 Getting Around: Adventure awaits! While car rentals and mopeds are an option, you’ll find that Cozumel is easily accessible by foot or taxi. Uber and Lyft are NOT available on the island as taxis operate under a union with fixed rates based on group size and distance.

Shuttles and taxis are readily available at the Cozumel airport, or if you prefer to plan ahead, pre-book transportation with CozuShuttle Oficial, Flex Shuttle Cozumel, or Nexus Tours, which offer both one-way and round-trip options. For your return trip, grabbing a taxi from your hotel to the airport is simple, and they accept both US dollars and pesos.

🐠 Underwater Wonders: Cozumel is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest reef system in the world. It offers diverse marine life making it one of the top snorkeling and diving destinations in the world!

💼 Currency: While the Mexican Peso is the local currency, US dollars are widely accepted. With fluctuating exchange rates, it's best to have some local currency on hand for smaller establishments and markets, but US dollars are just fine. Stations are available for currency exchange.

💳 Credit Cards and Tipping: Most places accept credit cards, although banks may charge a small international fee. It's also advisable to carry cash (US dollar or pesos) for tipping bartenders, servers, taxis, bellboys, and hotel cleaning staff.

💧 Water Safety: Similar to other countries, avoid drinking tap water and use bottled water instead, including when brushing your teeth. Rest assured, ice is filtered, and bottled water is readily available.

🚓 Safety First: Discover a sanctuary of tranquility! Cozumel boasts a tight-knit tropical island community and a remarkably low crime rate (less than 1%) compared to other popular tourist destinations, ensuring your peace of mind throughout your stay. The island is uniquely anchored by proud Mayan natives who value it as a gift that was handed down, so the streets and sidewalks are impeccably clean. Plus, Cozumel's national guard police called "Guardian Angels" patrol the island in pickup trucks, providing free roadside assistance – like a free “AAA”. Don’t be alarmed by the sight of them in the back of pickup trucks as they are there to protect tourists and ensure community safety.

🚶‍♀️ Strolling Through Cozumel: Cozumel’s charming streets are perfect for exploring, but be mindful – sidewalks can be uneven and may pose unexpected trip hazards compared to those in the U.S.

🧻 Restroom Readiness: While downtown and rural Cozumel offer an authentic cultural experience, public restrooms may have limited amenities. It’s a good idea to carry cash for a small toilet fee, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer to ensure comfort during your adventures.

👜 Travel Smart: Like any popular travel destination, petty theft can occur. Stay aware of your surroundings and keep your belongings secure while enjoying the beauty of the island.

🏥 Travel Insurance: Consider purchasing travel insurance such as Travel Guard or Allianz for peace of mind in case of any medical emergencies. Kindly research your best option.

📱 Cell Phone Usage: Please check with your provider about international roaming charges and data plans to ensure seamless communication during your stay.

👗 Wedding Dress Code: Embrace beach chic elegance! Prepare for a stunning beach ceremony and celebration, ensuring you’re dressed comfortably for sun, sand, and dancing the night away!

For Women:

• Flowing maxi dresses, midi dresses, or cocktail dresses in light or tropical colors in breathable fabrics like cotton, chiffon, or linen.

• Flat sandals, wedges, or block heels suitable for walking on sand.

For Men:

• Lightweight long-sleeve or short-sleeve button-down shirts (linen or cotton) with dress pants.

• Loafers, boat shoes, or dressy sandals. Sport coats are optional. No t-shirts or jeans.

Bright colors, florals, and tropical patterns are encouraged for all. Prepare for sun, sand, and dancing the night away!

🌴 Enjoy & Celebrate! Most of all, relax, have fun, and enjoy all the beauty Cozumel has to offer. We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you in this tropical paradise, and we are beyond grateful to have you with us!🥂💖
