Nick and Jocelyn's love story first began in a GVSU Biology class. Jocelyn sat in the front row and never looked up from her notes, and Nick sat a few rows back. One year later, they both attended Campus Life Night, where Laker Athletes promoted their sports. Nick was on the fishing team, and Jocelyn was on the cheerleading team. Jocelyn was amazed that there was a boat in the parking lot, so she struck up a conversation with a handsome, dimpled fisherman. After many conversations on social media, they decided to go on their first date in Ada, Michigan. A few years later, Nick asked Jocelyn to marry him in the same town where they had their first date.
