According to Jack, as I've come to know and love him, we've known each other since high school. Funny thing is, I don't remember that. But maybe that's how fate works. Maybe we pass by people once or twice in life before the moment is truly right. The moment for us happened at a place that holds more history than most people would guess. "El Hutcho's" on McKinley Avenue. A bar my parents used to go to, one of those local spots that smells like stories and memory. I was there not really expecting much. I was sitting in a corner at the bar playing one of those game machines of hidden objects, just trying to breathe through the heaviness I was carrying. My dad was sick. Cancer. And I was watching him slip away, knowing what was coming, knowing how my mom would be left alone, and not ready for it. I wasn't looking for anything that night, I wasn't looking for comfort, not anything, but then came Jack. Somehow familiar. He sat down beside me bought me a drink and we started chatting, it was easy, it wasn't hard, and he listened. We talked, we laughed a little, I cried, a little more than expected and he didn't flinch. He stayed. What started as a random night out became something bigger. He didn't try to fix everything. He just showed up, over and over, in the small ways that matter most. When my world felt like it was falling apart, he became the quiet presence that helped hold it together. God knows he's been through so much loss with me. Our story isn't about grand gestures or perfect beginnings. It's about timing. It's about second chances and unexpected reunions. It's about love showing up when you're cracked open and finding someone who sees beauty in the broken places. We didn't plan for any of it. But now, I can't imagine life any other way.

Deanna has been my ride or die for too many years.  We were roommates, teammates, she was my day care, a shoulder to cry on, and much more.  She married my nephew Bo and come to find out, Bo spent a lot a time at Jacks when he was kid, what a small world.  It doesn't matter if days or months go by , I can call her and she will drop what she is doing and run right over.  When it was time for Britt to throw Kaidin's 18th birthday party, she was there to help decorate, work the sweat line of making musubi, and dance the night away with me. She was there for his Graduation party to help decorate and supervise the overnighter then too.  And she was there to tour colleges and to take him to college WSU!!! Go Cougs..... She has been a constant for me in more ways than I can ever dream.  I can't think of ever a time that we have argued, other than her leaving her shoes in the middle of the floor, other than that, she is perfect.  Outspoken, straight to the point and my person, so I am honored to have her by my side. Love you girl.

Brittani is my beautiful daughter and is not only my greatest blessing but also my best friend and the light of my life. Watching her grow into the incredible woman she is today has been my proudest journey. She has stood by me through every season, filling my world with laughter, love, and endless joy. Having her as my bridesmaid means the world to me — it’s a reflection of the unbreakable bond we share and the love that continues to guide us both. I couldn’t imagine this special day without her by my side, shining just as brightly as she always has in my heart.

To my cousin Kent, we have always shared a special bond, being right there at Papa's and Ma's house so many memories.  Happy and sad memories that will live forever in my heart.  I want to say congratulations on your special day.  You and Jodie have always been right there for Ma's village anything that we may need you guys stepped right on in.  Jodie has always been family. Where do I even begin.  When I told you that me and your brother were getting married you and Latoya were both saying you were being flower girls, but I wasn't get let anyone rain on your parade other than the littles that will share it with you.  I can't wait for you to shine with us.  Dakiesha wrote this:  Kent and Jodie were there for me in the saddest moment of mine and my son's life.  Losing my momma felt like my heart was taken from my chest.  My big brother stepped right in along with Jodie to make the process for me easier to handle.  Kent and I used that time of sadness and made it a time to heal together.  He and Jodie loved us through that hard time.  I thank them so much for it.  I got to know Jodie more and relearn my brother not through a young girl's eyes, but as a grown woman.  I'm happy my brother as someone like Jodie.  She has been a blessing to our family.  She treats my son Khyren so sweet and anyone who knows me knows that if you are good to my child you're golden in my book.  I'm grateful God has given my brother and I our special moments.  Our bonding times that we've had so many since I moved to Washington.  Having my cap full of crown while he teases me, while he has his glass of crown.  Laughing and joking about the most random things.  Everyone doesn't get sibling they talk to but I have a big brother that I get to love and a sister in love not law that Khyren and I appreciate so much.

I wouldn't get married without my two granddaughters there... these beautiful joys will be tossing the petals down the aisle.  Zakiya has a smile and a heart of gold.   When she was very little her mom would play this John Legend song and she would just burst into tears.  I bet if we were to play it now she would do the same.    She wears her heart on her sleeve and fills every room with warmth, laughter, and love. Her kind spirit and joyful energy remind me daily of what truly matters. Watching her excitement about being my flower girl melts my heart; she’s been sprinkling love and light in my life since the day she was born, and now she’ll be sprinkling petals down the aisle. Having her by my side on this special day makes it all the more magical.

Zakiya Ware

 I hope she doesn't get cold feet this time.  Cause both of us are looking forward to having you toss those petals.  This little rascal is full of piss and vinegar.  If she had it her way she would be dressed as Chuckie's bride at the wedding, needless to say that is not happening.  Full of energy, personality, and a spark that lights up every room she walks into! She keeps us all smiling with her quick wit, fearless spirit, and boundless imagination. There’s never a dull moment when she’s around, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m so proud to have her as my flower girl, bringing her own special magic and charm to this day. I know she’ll steal the show (and everyone’s hearts) as she makes her way down the aisle!

My Cousin Kent!! It took probably 30 years to finally meet you.  But once we did, it's like we have been knowing each other our whole lives.  With you being the oldest grandson, and me being the youngest, only made our bond even more unbreakable.  I can't wait to be there standing with you to help you across the finish line.  Jack has always talked about you over the years.  When I finally got to meet you all I could see why.  I don't think I ever stopped smiling.  He was so happy to have you here in his world finally.  I only hope to have you all out here again real soon.

It wouldn't be a wedding without Patrick.   You are one of a kind — funny, charismatic, and just the right amount of foolish to keep everyone laughing. He has a way of lighting up any room he walks into, turning even the simplest moment into something memorable. Beyond his humor and charm, what truly stands out is his genuine heart. Kent and I go way back  ___   though, to be honest, I was only about four when he packed up and moved to Seattle.  When he left, I kind of took over his spot hanging out with our grandpa _____ big shoes to fill!  Over the years, we'd catch up whenever he came to visit, and even if we weren't in touch all the time, we always picked up right where we left off.  I'm really proud to be here today, standing up for him----even if he did leave me with all the chores back then.  

The other Jack Jr.  Jack talks a lot about you.  You have long conversations about hunting and just stuff.  You laugh and yell and give each other crap, so of course you would be one of his guys.

Though he originally came into our lives as my son-in-law’s friend, he quickly became so much more — truly part of our family. Over the years, he’s joined us for holidays, family gatherings, and countless moments of laughter, adventure, and simple everyday joy. Whether it’s helping out, sharing a joke, or just being there when we need him, he has shown time and again that family isn’t just about blood — it’s about love, loyalty, and connection. His kindness, warmth, and fun-loving spirit have made him a cherished presence in our lives, and we’re so grateful for all the memories we’ve shared together. Kaidin is my first grandson and he stole my heart the very moment he came into this world, and he’s held it ever since. From his earliest days, he’s shown a warmth and gentleness that touches everyone around him. His kind heart shines through in everything he does — whether it’s his thoughtful words, his helping hands, or the quiet way he makes people feel loved and seen. He’s grown into such an incredible young man, full of compassion, humor, and grace, and I couldn’t be prouder of who he is. On my wedding day, he will have the great honor of walking me down the aisle — a moment that means more to me than words can express. Having his arm linked with mine as we take that walk together is a symbol of the deep bond we share, and a memory I will cherish in my heart forever.

I always say he’s going to be President one day, because he has that perfect mix of intelligence, confidence, and compassion that makes true leaders shine. His keen mind and strong sense of purpose inspire everyone around him, and his heart is just as big as his dreams. On my wedding day, he’ll have the honor of walking me down the aisle, a moment that fills me with so much pride and joy.
